Im 8 week into road cycling and now doing 50k training rides over mainly hills, I live in Devon. Ive noticed every time my daughter decides to jump on my legs it hurts quite a lot in the muscles. How long is this lightly to go on for (the pain that is not the daughter annoying me).

It goes on for aslong as you are riding hard enough to cause muscle "damage" (not as scary as it sounds, as you need to "damage" your muscles to enable them to improve).
You can improve things with proper stretching AFTER a ride, using recovery drinks / food after a ride or massage

    This^

You could probably add warming down properly to this too. Allow some light spinning time to clear the lactic from your legs before you stop.
All the above is just advice .. you can do whatever the f*ck you wana do!

Ask your daughter to jump on a different part of your body. Leaving Devon may also help???????
