yeah it is short it's for a club league, it's a pretty flat course, I can usually hold 22- 24mph comfortably for a short distance, do I need aero bars or anything?0

Next May? blimey............
Depends on your currently level of fitness, May is a long way away, so unless you are planning on racing before then, I wouldn't bother with any VO2max stuff yet.
Get a good base, lots of long endurance and tempo level rides over winter, early next year add some sweetspot rides just below FTP, then start to VO2Max intervals around March.0 -
I know its quite far but I'd rather know what to do early rather than later as my clubs season has finished now should I try sprinting out of the saddle or does that make more drag?0

Do I invest in carbon wheels or should I shed 7lbs of body weight? I weigh147lbs 5ft 10" Will this make any difference to my speed for the TT?0

Deffo get some carbon wheels. These are practically essential. Put some weight on if you can too, once you get it moving it's harder to slow down.
Also, why not give yourself a more realistic time to prepare, two years should have you below thirty minutes for the whole gig.
Good luck.
There's always Rio in four years time.0 -
If it's your first TT then I would just train and do it in standard kit for the first few - tape up the helmet holes, the tightest jersey you have - then you'll have a set of base times to work on"I get paid to make other people suffer on my wheel, how good is that"

Carbon wheels are so expensive though? I can do 9 miles in 31 mins I would o thought lighter u r the quicker u are?0

If youre being serious....
Just do your normal training as said till march. then do some short hard efforts.
Its very far away for such a short event
Its a very very short event.
Get down as low as you can(aero)
go off fast then keep going fast.err thats about it.
If you want new wheels fine, dont buy them just for this tho.Death or Glory- Just another Story0 -
Weight doesn't really matter. Just training for tts will make you faster not loosing weight. Why not do some tts before the 11k one to see where you are?0

6.8miles??
Unless it's up a steep hill it's not worth bothering with, 10 is like the minimum distance unless it's up a hill of some kind O_o.0 -
Nice work OP!0

Maybe fit a sail and tack round the course whilst pedalling, singing shanties over 11k?...........
Nice work.0
