Olympic Women's TT - Spoilers
Well I suppose someone ought to start this thread. There are two TTs today remember. Emma Pooley in with a chance of a medal. I have to say I'm not familiar with the lilely winners other than the obvious (Armstrong / Vos / Arndt) so feel free to enlighten me (and others too)

You'd say it suits Armsrong and Arndt a bit more, given how straight it is. It seems quite a power course.0

I wonder about Armstrong - she hasn’t been racing in the European women’s circuit much recently, so her form is hard to judge. Or maybe that’s because she’s been training for this exact TT? But her compatriot, Neben, has a chance of a podium place too.
Arndt is the other definite favourite and I’d say Hughes (my PTP tip) and Villumsen have good chances of medals as well.
Vos can never be ruled out for a podium place but I think I’d go more for Van Dijk as the Dutch girl with the best chances of a podium place.
Pooley can also never be ruled out, but if I went for an outsider to get on the podium, I’d go for one of the Swedish girls. Johansson is always a good if inconsistent TT bet, while Fahlin is supposed to be the up-and-coming TT talent (in the U-23 European TT Championships in 2010, the podium was 1-Van Dijk, 2-Fahlin, 3-Vos).0 -

Anyone seen Emma Johanssen's helmet? I think she gets the award for most ridiculous time trial helmet so far. Can't post a picture, but it looks like Dark Helmet from Spaceballs.0

I love the way, being a climber, Pooley can still shift it in a TT.

I love the design on the Lightweight disc wheel."In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

Vos and Arndt may suffer from their efforts on Sunday.
Villumsen came 3rd in the WCH TT 3 years ago and 2nd last year. Can she go 1 place better?0 -

Here's final standings:
Gold: Kristin Armstrong (USA) 37min 34sec
Silver: Judith Arndt (Germany) 37min 50sec
Bronze: Olga Zabelinskaya (Russia) 37.57
Pooley came in 5th I think behind Clara Hughes.0
