Thanks for the plan DW300, looks like I'm heading in the right direction with my program
Did this last night and even though I nearly didn't bother I am really pleased that I did. My legs aren't thanking me though this morning as they are a tad sore lol

Recently signed up, dug out my turbo out and did my first 20 Min FTP test last night:
http://www.trainerroad.com/cycling/ride ... inute-Test
http://www.trainerroad.com/career/chaffordred
During the winter I usually just beat myself up on the turbo or do the occasional sufferfest DVD, so to have all the live and post workout information is fantastic.
I may have a go at the 8 minute FTP next then decide what structured workout to follow.0 -
Ahhh!!!! Help please.
Sat in my very cold shed , wanting to start Base training.
Have logged in. Its got my profile, my career and the FTP test.
I want to down load Base low volume 1 , starting with WHORL.
I ve gone in TRAINING PLANS. I ve gone in FEEDS I can see the plan and others goes at it.
I can get all 12 weeks of the plan up, But how do I choose that plan, down load it and ride it.
Also the page with devices on I cant find anymore to check my sensors.
I know I am an Idiot but I just want to get on with this.0 -
Not sure.
I went in the shed and the laptop I ve been using, didn't want to play , its got a dodgy power cable hence why its been demoted to shed use. But it was okay on Sunday when I did the test.
So rather than F##king about I ve come inside and got this laptop. Gone to the site, signed in and tried all the above.
Is the problem that the software isn't on this laptop?
I ve logged in on this laptop, its found my profile and career.
I beginning to think I haven't installed the software on this laptop . Hence the problem.
I m going back to Cake stop (more my level) and the Who's your Favourite Viz Character thread/
Because if this is what the problem is? Then I am Truly Terry F#ckwit0 -
DaveL wrote:You have to download the software onto your laptop, and you do all your workouts through that, not from the website (but if you have done the test you must have it somewhere).
I don't know if you can have it on more than 1 device.
Dave
Tim - as DaveL said, you just need to download the software to your second laptop. You'll then need to run the software, download the workouts and do the usual first-time set up, ie select your turbo, pair your sensors, tell it your wheel size etc. It will download your career (and upload your new ride when you've finsihed if you're internet connected).
Then off you go.
MarkPBoardman Road Comp - OK, I went to Halfords
Tibia plateau fracture - the rehab continues!0 -
Cheers Guys.
Machine and operator error. Just got the other lap top working and its all there.
Going to download it onto this one as well so I don't have that problem in future.0 -

I ve just completed my first ride after my 8 min test put my FTP at 109
Was going to do Whorl as its the first one on Base Low volume 1 but couldn't find it and ended up doing Pyriamidal
http://www.trainerroad.com/cycling/ride ... -Pyramidal
Quite soon in I upped the percentage to 130% and did the first interval at this and then dropped it to 120%
Span a lot lower gear than during the FTP test but cadence was still pretty low AVG 70.
maths tells me that if I can comfortably cope with 130-125% of my FTP test then I should probably up it to 140?0 -

Might as well close the thread?!
The same thing but for free... Bit of a no brainer! Got to say I wasn't that impressed by TrainerRoad. I thought once you had worked out FTP by doing the test they would select / suggest an appropriate training plan for a set number of weeks. I've cancelled my subscription within the 30 days.0 -
They do suggest training plans! And there are plenty of them...Insta: ATEnduranceCoaching

I didn't see that as an option? Once I had worked out FTP I had the pick of all the workouts, clearly some will not be appropriate. I thought from the comments in this thread it was going to be greater than it is.0

No. But for £7 a month I expected it to at least be smart enough to suggest a programme to follow, and have the videos associated with the workouts for free.0 -

It's not psychic. It can't tell whether you're an ultra-endurance rider or a 20% hill-climb specialist from an FTP test. You have to decide that and then follow the programme suggested. I think you were expecting too much.
Incidentally folks, I'm intending to follow my first programme .. Novice Competitor High Volume. I think I can complete it, have a couple of rest weeks, and do the first 8 weeks again before the clocks go forward. That's the plan anyway ..
Also, NapD .. are you 100kg?!All the above is just advice .. you can do whatever the f*ck you wana do!
