I'm visiting relatives in Sheffield, next weekend and was hoping someone could suggest a route for my training ride. I'm looking for around 4-5 hours so probably 60 - 80 miles depending on the terrain. I was thinking of starting near to where I'm staying at on the A625 and heading out to Bakewell. However I could do with some suggestions as I don't know any of the roads and want to avoids those that are a nightmare in terms of traffic.

just get on your bike and ride until you are half knackered
then ride back again
it really is all good
if you are motivated add some filters to garmin connect and see what others do
or even google the local scene and join a group on the day
failing that from the A625 Id suggest the following:
ringinglow
thornhill
edale
peak forrest
wormhill
millers dale
tideswell
cressbrook
monsal head
longstone edge
foolow
eyam
froggatt
a625
home
approx 90km
one of my favourite rides
superb terrain
time variable depending on your fitness

Thanks for the posts. I have taken the above route as I am lazy and can't be bothered to plot my own. Going to stick to a solo ride so not going to bother seeking out other groups. Been doing a lot of solo training lately and quite enjoying it at the moment. I did however contact Sheffield Clarion to see what they were doing but got no reply?
Again thanks for the response and if you are out in the peaks on Saturday and spot a lone Sunderland Clarion rider then please say hello.0
