I've been trying to watch on 4OD through my laptop but it won't let me for some reason :(

We managed to see the heat online after some faffing - always tough lining up after the WR has just been smashed but he did really well.

Annoying that no Freeview extra C4 channels!

    Copied from RTE Sport.

Colin Lynch lost out on a bronze medal by .02 of a second in the individual pursuit C2 bronze medal ride-off.
Lynch had led the race up until the final moment only to lose out to the 2008 Paralympics champion - France’s Laurent Thirionet.

Lynch took the lead in the race from the start and maintained his advantage of between 1.5 and 2 seconds for the first 2000m. However, the experience of the Frenchman came through when he clawed his way back over the final 1000m to edge Lynch out of the medals by a heartbreaking 0.12 seconds. Lynch's time was 3:53.668, while Thirionet clocked 3:53.527.

After his race, Lynch commented: "I hadn’t met Thirionet on the track before, but I knew I had the measure of him on the road.

"I am very disappointed with the result, I tried a strategy and it didn’t work. Next up is the team sprint, and after that I will switch my focus to the road."

Had the honour of cycling a lot closer than that with Colin on L2P.

    Good luck fella

Nice one heh heh, I do have to say that I was out riding with him not just stalking 20 metres back!

We were through and offing in the group and he was right in front of me for some time. As an old EPO Devotee I stuck with him as close as possible.

Hey guys - and thanks for the support.

I'm absolutely pig sick with my riding today - especially losing in the bronze ride by the smallest of margins. Watched it back on a player and it hurts even more.

Credit to the medal winners - they all put in stonking rides. I was capable of the bronze today but had a bit of a brain fade and let up when I got the signal I was leading instead of putting the hammer down. By the time I got the signal the other rider was closing it was too late to match his acceleration. But it's racing and the best man won.

So - Team Sprint up on Sunday before my preferred event (the TT) on Wednesday. No fark-ups in that one hopefully - although it will be the same 4 riders contesting the medals I think. Head down and power up for me!

    Cheers all,
    Colin

How did Colin do yesterday? I can't find anything on C4's website.

They set a new Paralympic games record in their heat of the team sprint, but unfortunately it was a day for fast times and the record was lowered still further by others. They ended up 8th but seemed to be happy enough when interviewed later on Setanta.

Next event is the TT on Wednesday.

I wouldn't have thought of looking there. I hadn't realised I could view Twitter without an account.

I'm getting a bit pissed off at missing everything on the box.

Need to book space on Wed.
