I prefer mine cut in to quarters of the triangular variety.
They do taste better for some reason."If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got."

the more important question is, when cutting a sandwich in half do you now have 2 sandwiches?BMC TM01 - FCN 0

Sandwiches are best served whole and uncut; an unmolested round accommodates far more of the important stuff without fear of mayonnaise trouser disasters. Once you've tried an uncut 12" stottie, sandwiches will never be the same.0

Absolutley, triangular is the only shape a sandwich should be.
Also, if a sandwich is cut in space, is the pope a catholic?0 -
Vermin is spot on. Why would you butcher a work of art?!FCN 3 / 40

Because i'm so hard, I prefer mine quartered, de-crusted, with a toothpick through each one (and triplestacked)0

Was looking for a new signature... that'll do. Ta.0

Cut into triangle you don't get the corners of crusts, that's why people like them. Mine and the boy's are cut normally, the girls have triangles.0
-
Triangles give you one 'perfect' bite with no hint of crust. All the other bites include a bit of crust and are second best. Normal cut gives crust in every mouthful - which isn't optinal at all!0
-
I also find that squashing them in your bag intensifies the flavour.
Whole and uncut (sandwiches that is)0 -
Depends on the filling. For dainty little tuna and cucumber or ham and cheese sandwiches, yes, cut into triangles. For a full-on, cholesterol packed bacon, sausage and egg sandwich drenched in red and brown sauce, no, no, no!0

adding Bacon makes sandwiches taste better."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Conversely, how small is my (home made) bread?0 -
Why would you not want any crust in your sandwich? That just suggests that you are using inferior materials for the construction of said sandwich.1985 Mercian King of Mercia - work in progress (Hah! Who am I kidding?)

Quite, the French take a baguette, scoop out the useless soft, fluffy stuff from the middle, and then fill the void with goodies (as I was reliably(?) informed by the Team Sky chef during le Tour). It seems the crust is the only part of any real value to our cultured cousins.0 -

Removing the crusts
a) is wrong
b) adversely affects the sandwich's structural integrity which could be vital with certain kinds of bread0 -
