They're not going to be riding these in the road race on Satuarday are they?
Did you suspect they re using them just for fun?
I don't see what the fuss is about tbh...We're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

Wonder if they will have a similar bike for the track?0 -

If they were doing that, wouldn't they be using something like this?
(actually, I think there might be an advantage in using that bike. As there are no race radios allowed, you could use the increased height to monitor what's happened up the road. Then use the flashing light on the back when you need to get your team to the front to bring a break back. Marginal gains and all that...)0 -

Prior to the 2011 Vuelta, his performances were a bit of a joke."I have a lovely photo of a Camargue horse but will not post it now" (Frenchfighter - July 2013)0 -

I seem to remember reading that most pros have a clause in their contract about always being seen in team kit and on team bikes (and wasn't it reported that a Garmin rider got fired for being photographed on something different on another teams training camp??)
So do the GB riders have an extra clause in their contract to cover when they're riding for the National Team?
Edit : found it - it was Trent Lowe, but that was such a confusing, mixed up affair that it might have been just an excuse. The reports also mention riding a non-team bike "without written permission" so it sounds like there is usually a clause already in place. As you were!0 -

Given that for all bar one of them, who won't be riding the Team GB bike anyway, their pro team boss is the same person as their national team boss, I can't see it being an issue.
Edit: I stand corrected! I presume Millar will have made an arrangement with Cervelo for the day."In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

Seeing them riding around yesterday, Stannard is still on a pinarello and Millar on his Cervelo0

Looking at the bars, there's no place for a computer - are they all riding without? Would have thought they'd want to be measuring their efforts by power...0

No - its a road bike using what theyve learnt in making them for the track. You cant just ride a track bike - no brakes, gears, batteries etc etc.0
