You can always rely on Kimmage to drag even the most positive cycling story down into one about doping.

The one thing that's disappointing me with Kimmage et al is how no one seems to have doing the Pippo -> Ferrari -> Rogers thing yet.

He has usually been right. And often (e.g. the cancer exchange) by saying stuff that lots of people around him know, but only he is prepared to pursue.

Here, though, his key point seems to be that Wiggins needs to explain his team's doctor selection policy. Hmm.

    Mod may be stupid.

Mod is not that stupid however.

As one responder says, it's a shame Kimmage twists the truth to suit a good headline, and ignores publically stated reasons for the change in tack over medical staff. He does his credibility damage by that.

Problem w/ Leinders is he left Rabo in anger because he disagreed with new, clean, direction. Doesn't sound like a guy who embraces change

He's amazingly accurate. Knew Bruyneel was nabbed at the airport before anyone else, knew the USADA thing was coming.

He's pretty well connected inside cycling.

    they have to be clean

if sky doped it will come out and I dont think cycling or the tour will survive yet another false dawn scandal

Paul Kimmage made some fairly persuasive argument recently that Wiggins completely rejects him now. The above article comes scarily close to sugggesting wiggo went native a bit. The science in sport guys have made some very good argument that Brad is clean or at least is quite slow compared to Lance and Contador. Wonder what Wiggo would have done in 1993 if he were 30 and could see he could win tdf? Who really won the 2009 TDF? Many questions. Also, Chris Boardman anyone? No congrats from Chris either!

Kimmage is only asking for what Sky promised: transparency and answers. He is not accusing anyone at Sky, just stating how things look. All sky have to do is clarify things.

I think the team is clean, but there are some niggling questions.

Wasn't the Tour in 1968 called the Tour de Health, after Tom Simpson death the previous year? I think there have been quite a few false dawns.

He's demanding answers that have already been provided, which is usually the mark of someone who's just desperate for a story. Sky have already clarified why they changed that particular policy, of not hiring doctors that had worked in cycling before. It turns out that looking after athletes performing at the limit of their endurance for three weeks at a time in extreme heat is quite a specialised field, and it helps to have someone with actual experience of doing that.

"until the rest day of the 2012 Tour when Brailsford admitted to The Times that Leinders had been employed by the team since 2010."

He didn't "admit" to anything. It was known long before then that Leinders was employed by them.

    Very dishonest writing.
