Chain gangs in west Kent area?

Im looking to start racing soon and while speaking to someone about it recently they mentioned getting out with a chaingang first would be a good idea.
Im a member of a local Triathlon club, which has a strong cycling contingent.
Its great for fast Sunday rides and time trialling but does not have a race scene or chain gangs.
Dont want to change clubs to one of the other local cycling clubs we compete against in evening TT's so was wondering if there are any informal groups that meet (reasonably) locally to me that I could tag along to a few times.
Think I read about something similar on here once out SW london way, but may be mistaken.
