"Christian Vandevelde comes from just outside Illinois, in Chicago..."

Just as everyone goes back for a natural break "..the riders going back to do what they do best.."

Phil "..you can hear the whistle behind you."
Paul "..you've almost got to be listening backwards. Like a horse. When their ears point backwards."

Possibly, but from the 2004 Olympics.

Can't even remember who won. Bettini?

Could be interesting if they were re-testing the track medallists!

Yeah, but Bobby Julich (TT) and Brad Wiggins (indv & team pursuit) both won medals... a positive there might p!ss on Sky's chips.

I was reading elsewhere on this forum that we should not trust Wiggins because we shouldn't have trusted Armstrong.

But Armstrong is a damned yank and Bradley is an Englishment (or Aussie or Belgian) so Would Not Cheat.

Why've they bothered making a statement about this if they're not in a position to confirm any positive results. Why not wait the couple of days until they've checked the theraputic exemptions malarky? Just seems to stir things up unneccessarily.

What do they do on their "rest day" apart from go on a bike ride?

Are they allowed a beer? Just one?

If it comes to nothing then no headlines. No headlines equals less money to retest in the future.

Go for a ride, usually have a big team lunch - a bit of a nicer spread than usual.

Then spend the afternoons in the hotel being very bored - reading books, playing computer games, calling the family.

The favourites will go and have a press conference in the afternoon.

In the past, the Dutch have had a 'mussels' party. TVM used to have them every Tour, and last year Vaconsoleil had one too. Not sure about this year. http://www.volkskrant.nl/vk/nl/6504/Tou ... Tour.dhtml

I thought imported steak was compulsory for all spanish riders on tour - expect Cobo to attack from the off tomorrow and win the stage by 2 hours.

    Steroids in dodgy beef?
You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.

It was clenbuterol, which isn't a steroid.

Of course, the alternative (and entirely alleged and unproven) explanation for having a very low level of clenbuterol is that it was in the bag of blood infused on the rest day, having been part of the pre-Tour preparation regime.

    It was a joke.

Quite pleased this year that the only thing they've found is some guy injecting stuff that really won't help. So far. Fingers crossed.

I see now why some are saying this years Tour is dull. I hear on the radio that Wiggins has spent most of the morning having a lie-in and a massage and STILL Evans and Nibali have failed to make any impression on Wiggins' lead.

As for Froome - he has been spotted resting on a massage table just behind Wiggins and Porte.

Nibali to escape on the last climb, gain time on the descent with his m4d sk1llz and take yellow by 10 seconds and hold it until Brad takes it back in the final TT.

Dutch riders keep going on about 'the race is won in bed'.

    No wonder they're rubbish.

    Doubt the WAGs approve either.

And nothing happens on Thursday's stage? How about Wiggins punctures at the base of the last climb and Froome doesn't wait for him. That would be fun! :D

........... So EBH gives Brad his bike, and he TT's himself back to the front, while Froome blows a gasket and slips out of podium contention.....
