Yep. That was part of my rationale. Proper hubs, proper spokes. They run, as far as I've been able to test, very nicely.

They're slightly aero and pretty much on weight (around 1650g).

I'm under no illusion that they'll make me faster but I've always wanted some 40 (ish) mm. And they were pretty much £400 off RRP

I bought some H plus Son SL42 rims this morning... I think I love them and I think I will fit a set on my Croix de Fer...

If you get white (and with the right graphics fitted) they would look like my AC's
    Yellow is the new Black.

You swine...you just had too didn't you

I think even my taste limit may be exceeded if I get yellow rims on the Basso

No need to get overexcited... these are non machined rims for hipsters on a fixie (or old farts like me on a bike with disc brakes)...

  • First spint today, lovely wheels, spin easily, spin forever, possibly faster. But who cares. :D

Final change, wasn't getting on with the Arione, swapped out for an Aliante.

Still love it but my priorities are changing. More into slow touring rides etc than all out sprints.

Thinking about Ti or Steel, particularly the Genesis Volare IF it comes in "that colour."

With that in mind, what's my Canyon worth? Should be in excess of £2k shouldn't it? (Usual caveats of it's worth what someone would pay for it).

just going purely on gut feel, having seen a lot of second hand bikes for sale, I would say you'd be looking at around £1,500-£1,700

    Even with £1000 wheels?

I'm not sure you'd get full value for the wheels - might be better to put the elites back on the bike and sell the wheels separately
