Looking forward to knowing the final weight! are you going to put white or black bartape?0
-
Oh black!
Weighing might be an issue, not having the best equipment. I balanced it on the scales as best I could earlier and it appears to be 5.9kg so far. With only cables and chain to go. I suspect that's a bit out!My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

White bar tape in the summer, black in the winter. Need to change the saddle colour though. That is going to be one nice ride.0

Hmmm. Did you think about standing on the scales yourself with and without the bike and working out the difference? Easier than trying to balance a bike on the scalesMore problems but still living....0 -
Yes. It came out at 5.9kg. I don't think the scales are all that goodMy blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Bike looks well.......but sorry....those new wheels don't 'match' imo re the overall look...... although I know they're a decent set of hoops blah blah.
Did you get the all in weight?0 -
It was about UCI or just a bit less. Saved 100g with the saddle, lost it with the wheels. So should remain the sameMy blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

DT Swiss 240S hub version with DT swiss spokes.
They have a cunning choice of hubs with J spokes, which means you don't have to bin the whole lot when the rim is due for replacement. I have had those hubs, they were brilliantleft the forum March 20230 -
Yep. That was part of my rationale. Proper hubs, proper spokes. They run, as far as I've been able to test, very nicely.
They're slightly aero and pretty much on weight (around 1650g).
I'm under no illusion that they'll make me faster but I've always wanted some 40 (ish) mm. And they were pretty much £400 off RRPMy blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

I bought some H plus Son SL42 rims this morning... I think I love them and I think I will fit a set on my Croix de Fer...left the forum March 20230 -
They look fabulous! I'd opt for black and not worry about the anodising as they are proud of the rest of the rim and could easily be "sanded off."My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)
