What, wheels with air in them?
But how would you seal the wood so that the air would be trapped in? And what advantage do they give?

The sort of question I would expect from a Marin riding luddite like you.

Well I have overheard those who should be seen and not heard refer to a miraculous elixer from the alchemist Stan.

I am looking at fitting a Charge Kitchen Utensil that the downstairs maid recommended while I was giving her a good tupping.

I already have a very flexible stem and I've fitted an iTelegraph holder.

Any other suggestions for upgrades from the plebs?

There's quite a few for me so it's hard to pick.

    Shimano XT M785 brakes
A wheelset with proper width rims
    Clipless pedals and shoes

Although I built it in late 2011 I'd have to say my Giant Anthem X SL Advantage. Best bike I've ever ridden let alone owned.

As for 'kit' I'd be blind without the Oakley Jawbone prescription transitions and the Bonty Mud XR4s have transformed 'summer' riding.

I've started wearing glasses for riding in again, it's so much better being able to see where I'm going rather than my eyes watering. Or getting bugs in them. Or crud.

    Cheap too, clicky

Mucky Nutz front fender. An amazing piece of kit for £6. It really does keep you free of mud despite its size.
The reverb seatpost that came with my bike is also fab. I wasn't sold on them and if it hadn't come on on the bike I probably wouldn't have got one, but now I have one I'd liken it to aircon in a car, once you've had it, you wonder how you ever coped without.

Are you the BFG or something? 7.6m wide bars, that's just madness.

    For me:
The stiffness of the XT cranks compared to the deore cranks they replaced was a revelation.
SS nano pedals make the DMR V12s they replaced look like bricks with axles.
1x10 XT gears with LG1+ guide is awesome.
    XT brakes are awesome.
    Finally my 29er is awesome.

Favorite out of those would be the 1x10 set up.

No, you're not. The police have been called and will be over shortly.
