I am worried that I might be too light I am 5ft 10" and I weigh 146lbs. I eat like a hoarse when I am training, I am curious to know what your weight is so I can have something to compare it to.

10 1/2 stone for your height is quite light.
I'm overweight @ 208lbs for 5ft 11"Norco Sight C7.2

Pointless question because we're all different. Have you seen a drop off in your own performance as a result of losing a lot of weight recently? Unless you feel you're suffering health problems as a result of your weight and your GP has suggested so then your weights fine.
Hold on, your concern hasn't been borne of the suggestion that because Cav has lost some weight therefore he's not as good a sprinter?0 -
lol wish I was 10 1/2 stone at 5ft 10. I've got a stone on you lad and I seem to do fine.0

You're well within the normal range of BMI. BMI is a very gross measure, so it's possible you could be underweight at that weight (e.g. If you were an endomorph with short legs and long torso) but it's quite unlikely unless you were actually sick.Jibbering Sports Stuff: http://jibbering.com/sports/0 -
I find that BMI crazy according to that I would be hea;thy at 130lbs thats not right at all, Id have 32" legs dunno how that measures up0
-
Tell us what cycling your doing at the moment and how you're feeling before/during/after.
BMI is a very general rule and may not be the cause of your concerns (unless your bulimic which is beyond our remit).0 -
Seriously do not let it worry you. I'm 5'10" and weigh 130lb wet through. I eat well and do have a good appitite but just don't put weight on. The only downside I do have is I can't eat big meals so I can't store lots of energy prior to a big ride. Therefore 30 - 40 miles in I'm reaching for the gels whilst the rest of the group are fine.0
-
I usually do 12 hours training per week running and cycling prob 9 hours of cycling, I generally feel fine a bit tired but not too bad, I am never sick only runny nose, sometimes I drop 3lbs after a heavy week and I notice an increase in performance when I am back to my normal weight.0
-
So your legs are quite long for your height, which would mean you'd tend to have lower weight than others at the same height, you're skinny and find it hard to build muscle presumably. You sound a completely healthy weight.Jibbering Sports Stuff: http://jibbering.com/sports/0

I was told I was an ectomorph by a trainer, but I do not how this is possible as I used to be obese is it possible to change your body type from weight loss?0
-
It's perfectly possible to become fat as an ectomorph.Jibbering Sports Stuff: http://jibbering.com/sports/0

5ft 11" and 84kg (13.2st). I used to be 79kg about a year and a half ago and I have been doing more cycling regularly since then.. :shock:0

No idea about morphs, what I do know is that your weight can depend on all sorts of things, diet and how much exercise being key, age being another. I am heavier now than 20 years ago, and no amount of exercise makes me lighter, including pedalling 150 miles plus per week in the summer months. But I aslo eat like a horse. Drink like a fish as well !!!!!
If you feel OK, have a good appetite, and enjoy what you do..................stop worrying about your weight.0 -
I'm the same height and tend to hover around 75kg, I am heavier at the moment due to not being able to commute to work but after a week of commuting I am slimming down as well (Ihave cut crap out as much as possible too) and I can feel when I am at my normal cycling weight, the pedalling seems more effortless0
-
I am 4 inches shorter than you and my cycling weight is *63kgs, you are 66kgs.
*I have included my bike (8kgs) as part of my cycling weightmy isetta is a 300cc bike0 -
I am 5ft 7 and 59.6 kilos (9 stone 4 )and am generally cycling 150km + per week mostly on the commute but also on the club run on a Saturday. Needless to say I have no trouble with the hills but can struggle keeping up with the club on the flat0

and then........ you'll loose weight?
I'm just over 13st and 5' 10'' ish.
I should be no more than 12.5st but travelling and hotel living makes it hard.0 -
Sounds fine to me, I'm 5'9+ and 138lbs and I've still got some fat around the love-handles / kidney area I could probably lose. If I was 146lbs I'd be overweight by my own standards, but I've got a slender bone structure (skinny wrists etc) and not much upper body musculature. Someone else of the same height and weight might be underweight if they had a different build. Better to go by how much fat you actually have - can you "pinch more than an inch?" With experience you will get a handle on what is healthy for you. I know when I am reaching my ideal weight when a particular vein on the right/lower side of my stomach pops out - it is invisible if I am carrying a couple of extra kilos.0

Just got off the scales and im, 15st 4 and 6ft 1. If you eat well, are never ill and able to train 9 to12 hours a week and only some times get tired, you are doing ok and should not worry about your weight, we come in all shapes and sizes.Ridley Boreas

Sounds like a "Cake Stop" blog required MacLeod113 - the definitive guide to the best cake stops. I'm a ready-and-waiting subscriber already
One thing I used to love about winter training rides, was pulling into the "Top Of The Town" cafe in Dorchester, and having the Crumble/Bread Pudding/Stodge Of The Day* (delete as appropriate/available) with lashings of custard!! All piping hot and portions so big, you could barlely lift the bowl. Much better than energy gels
Got to love cake though! White Chocolate and Cranberry Sponge..... I feel a "Homer" coming on....drool....drool...0 -

How did u even sustain that I did not even think that weight was possible, u must have hardly any muscle though?0 -

Probably not very much body fat, less than 8% I'd imagine.0 -
Used to eat like a horse, but burn up all the calories - and then some! Used to be able to do sub-13 min 800m swims, regular 58 min 25 TTs and 32 min 10K runs. I've broad shoulders which meant I always had good upper body muscle, so slim waist but good shape. Useful for power climbing and sprinting, ideal for triathlon.0

Just checkout the pro's weights:
http://www.letour.fr/le-tour/2012/us/teams.html#sky
I'm comparable to them in terms of weight/height - probably need to shift the weight around a bit though ... more in the muscles would help!0 -
no wonder they can fly up the hills they weigh nothing, and then bikes that weigh less than 17lbs0
