Was going to get the Voodoo Hoodoo for £450 from Halfords(got a bike to work scheme) but they now have a Whistle Miwok for same price. Voodoo is getting great reports on here but know nothing about the
Whistle Miwok 1163D.

There is always one who says that.... Apart from a Rockrider find a better specced non-Halfords bike then?

To be honest, only the Carrera and Apollo are Halfords bikes, the Voodoo and Boardmans are just exclusives (Ie, they've had a lot more thought put into them)

So i see there are 'brand wa*%ers' in the world of MTB too...

Some Carrera's and most of the Voodoo's are awesome value and are up there in the top 10 etc of their price range normally. Same goes for the Pinnacle's from Evans etc. Obviously this is just my opinion and it doesn't count because I ride a Voodoo Bokor and not a 'brand' bike lol.

Ebay........ and if your into your bikes, you'll be fully able of maintaning them, so buying a cut price second hand machine, one of which you could upgrade, will of be no concern........

Aren't Voodoo, Carrera, Boardman, Rockrider & Specialized frames (and probably some others) all made by Merida?
Never heard of Voodoo, Carrera or Boardman frames failing.
I have rode a Crush & Carrera Fury back to back & prefered the Fury!
Cannondale & Orange on the other hand seem to be a little less solid! Seen a few snapped RZ/Rize frame! Also seen a cracked Crush.

Still arguing? Didn't you notice he rides an Orange, and is therefore infallible.
I, for one, welcome our Orange riding overlords.

no we're not, the only one judging things is you, based on the shop they are bought from, and remarks like the one above make you look ignorant and ridiculous

I forgot Orange owners are NEVER wrong despite the fact that they decided it was a good idea to buy an Orange and in this case a Cannondale as well.

Strange how the"halfords" crew are bitter..... Both orange and c.dale are proven.... And I totally can understand that you haven't the finances to buy one.... So go for paper boy bikes.... Nothing wrong with that.... If your a teenager working at Maccy D's that is...... I'll be sure to post pics of my newest project soon... Coincidently, isn't a "chav" bike.... But another premium brand.... It's only money.... Can't take it with you!

Boardman and Carrera are proven too, won more awards in the mags in the last two years than practically anything else.

Buy what you like, as simple as that. Let's have less of the stereotyping and silly comments please.
