Would you ever notice a few grammes weight saving from lighter bolts? I struggle to notice any difference between my 34lb trail hardtail and 30lb xc hardtail (21" frames are heavy & I like fat tyres and long travel forks)

Frame size makes a lot less difference than you think, that's just an excuse ;-)

Marginal gains though innit. Save 50% the weight of your stock rotor bolts and it may not make a difference, save 50% on every part and it does!

Makes a big difference with some frames. About 2.5lb difference between a small & large 456SS frame.

    I'm a weight weenie nick ..
Fine line between weight weenie and idiot.
I didn't think there was a line between them, I understood it was removed as the extra weight of the line was deemed unnecessary.

Hmmm, must say I was very unimpressed with the ti bolts I had from Superstar. Good pads, poor bolts!

I have no idea what you're talking about anymore. I've already said where to find a link to it, i'm not gonna spend half an hour searching for it myself when i couldn't care less.

The Fuel in question does seem heavy. 12.6kg is just under 28lbs, which is about what I'd expect for a Stumpy.

Budget weight wenie hardtail, 11.5Kg for a (as rolling) cost of £420.......Nylon bolts are cheaper and lighter than ally for blanking holes in frames of course!

Just to clarify brake disc bolts don't work in shear but in tension, the friction prevents the disc moving, having said that if they do come loose having a greater shear strength to save your bacon is handy!
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

A small square of electrical tape weighs even less than nylon bolts, or just leave them empty. I've got several holes in mine, frame doesn't fill with water.
