GPS Tracking in France

Hi, probably a stupid question but what is the best way to track a ride abroad? will i need to purchase a garmin type device? i normally just use endomondo on my blackberry but is it going to cost a fortune to use my mobile abroad?

    just switch off the data connection on your phone
    it will still log the GPS

    I think endomondo still uses data with a BB. I use "GPS logger" free from app world and is completely data free. GPS logger can send GPX files to strava as well.
