I looked at the weather forecast. GRIM.
What do you mean you think 64cm is a big frame?

Why am I looking at upgrading mud guards in may!??!0

Been putting the Cruds on my new Ribble Gran Fondo frame today. Mind you, looks like it will be pretty dry this week so maybe not so urgent after all.Faster than a tent.......0

Tell me about it - looked at the forecast for this week: temperatures resolutely refusing to get above 10C all week and getting as low as 6C. Truly crap for April let alone June.ROAD < Scott Foil HMX Di2, Volagi Liscio Di2, Jamis Renegade Elite Di2, Cube Reaction Race > ROUGH0

I did it. Drenched and rained on for 12 miles door to door, but I made it in.
I might buy some overshoes oneday0 -

ahhhh. There is something deeply satisfying about arriving at work after the 'adventure' of cycling through sheets of rain an all those puddles tho. Isnt there!? :-)FCN 7: Dawes Galaxy Ultra 2012 - sofa-like comfort to eat up the miles

overshoes? dont bother! i wore mine today and it felt like it was keeping the water in!! :S i guess the water water entering at the top as well as bottom (cleat hole) - road spray...
but it was kinda fun - i wore a long sleeve base layer, short sleeve and gillet - at least my body was dry and warm...
there were a surprising number of cyclists on the road though...good effort!
on a side note - i forgot to bring a change of socks....sigh....0 -
Got bloody soaked but was mild enough not to bother me too much!
Looks like it going to be a wet ride home after the football aswell!0 -
went out in summer kit. Cold, wet, headwind. Lucky I cleaned everything on Saturday....0

Endura Helium waterproof top + base layer + Endura Road Overshoes... snug & dry.. bring it on!Invacare Spectra Plus electric wheelchair, max speed 4mph0

Totally bailed.
Eating a lot of sh!t at work today. Drained any willpower I had to force myself into work through the rain.0 -

ditto for the 16 miles, back to the 3/4 bibs and long sleeve running top, summer shoes (as they dry quicker) and that's it.0 -

Yikes, those things are expensive
Fortunately found them for £55 in the sales a few months ago. Also reckon I maybe need thicker socks to form a bit more of a seal around the ankle - I reckon as I was pedalling then the ankle was moving enough to let water in. At least it was only 6 miles not 60.0 -

How do you rate the helium? I'm looking for a summer waterproof jacket as my current one is a bit boil in the bag.AKA Captain Blackbeard

So it's your fault?! #soaked.
Dumped the bibs into the shower at work to rinse the road grime off - wasn't going to make them any wetter! What do you mean you think 64cm is a big frame?0 -
well that was horrible.
winter boots did fuck all.
should have worn a base layer for warmth.

Summer gear for me on the way home tonight, fairly normal 11° forecast round here.
Mostly been quite unpleasant in a cold & humid way round here for a while.
And don't get me going about the constant easterlies that only die down in the early morning when I'm heading west - but when I look out on mornings when I'm not riding, the east wind is howling?
Still, man up and ride is, as ever, the only way.0 -

Got that slightly smug feeling having ridden in. I need to drive in once this week to get my Dad's car MOTd, but I thought the traffic would be terrible so opted not to do that today.
Rode in, got wet, not really a problem. One of my colleagues that normally cycles wimped out and was 45 minutes late. Oh how I laughed. He asked if I wanted to wear hit tea after pointing out the folly of his ways. Comes in late and gets stroppy. If he'd cycled he'd have been much happier.0 -
Its actually quite fun being in the rain. I have come to realise that lycra shorts and a t-shirt work well on days like this. Once you are wet you are wet.
Pass a lot of miserable looking people in full waterproof outfits and no mudguards.
If you are lucky enough to have a tailwind then there is no reason not to have a smile on your face.0 -
tailwind home!
and it turns out the crunching from my rear wheel was a lose cone. Result.0 -
