no the stem should be fine,, as you using a tapered fork, so the upper part of the steerer should be the same as your exsisting fork...www.bearbackbiking.com

Would it be advisable to go to my local bike shop to get my new headset and forks fitted? as i don't have the proper tools for the job.0
