Elton gay? NEVER!
pfft, you'll be telling us Freddie Mercury took it up the Gary next!0 -

So new saddle fitted
and some new running gear
New red chain (because it will make me faster) and a New SLX rear mech! no more funny noises and chain breakages for me!0 -
So last night i got her into road mode for the www.thekaiserchallenge.com Road tyres would not go up tubeless  which ended quite badly
so had to put some tubes in
also put new front 38t chain ring on to give me slightly highter gearing for road work. then last of all fitted the crank skins 8)

I take it you are running 1x9/1x10 then for the KC, I'm slightly worried about the hill element so I'm going 3x90
-
yeah 1x9 and gone in the middle of middle and big ring.
I thought about a 3 ting set up, its just too much grief from what I normally run.0 -
Yeah, if id thought about it more, I'd have built amy 3x9 then chopped her back down to 2, its meant i had to get a new chain as I'd shortened this one and take the her apart somewhat ah well0
-
The latest updates, not much but it's taken ages to get the new steerer tube from the states then another crown race
I need to give them a try on the trails to get my head around it?0 -
how has your red clarks chain held up to riding?
ive read good and bad reviews on the longevity of the colour....

So been a tad busy of late to update, but todays little fettle session was to make the Avids work!
Strip and clean caliper, larger 180mm disc and new pads. It now stops when asked rather than coast to a stop
Fit more comftable bars and stem
and a general check over for tomorrows race!

Not sure about the red chain but overall the bike looks great. The fork has transformed the way the bike looks. What's you bike weighing in at?0

She was weighing 9kg with the rigid, i think the lefty is about 1.1kg but my lefty wheel set is heavier, so i recon shes creeping up to around 11kg. so lighter wheelset needed.0 -
That's nice and light. I've never had any experience with the lefty forks, how do they perform and feel. Also is your crank carbon?. I use a raceface next lp crank, the one that's carbon with an aluminium outer. It's only about 500grams and looks superb in black.0
-
The fork (if you can call it that) works really well and is incredibly smooth? you just have to remember not to look at it whilst riding!0

Project Shakira??? Should this now have a child seat0

Haven't you just broken this bike?I'm going to blow the bank on a new build ( within reason ) NOW DONE!!

~Right,
So i was just starting our little sunday ride out, we had done all the climbing to start the fun bit of the day (the only reason for using this bike was someone wanted to see the lefty)
We started on the twisty singletrack and at the bottom was the only bit of mud we came across.
i lifted the front wheel up to manual over but the rear wheel pulled the front back down. i came to a dead stop and got thrown off the front.
A loud snap was heard.
My imediate thought was i had broken the carbon steerer tube on the forks, but then reallised i wasnt using my rigid forks.
i looked at my bike, Oh
We had to make a few temporary repairs so i could walk it back to my car
The frame is still under warranty so i am in contact with them about getting it replaced.
My brother pointed out to me last night that i was lucky that it did snap, as coming to such an abrupt stop as it did i could of flipped much quicker and broken a coller bone or something else.
as it is, i'm not bruised, just down a bike at the moment.0 -
HOLY SH*TE!!!
that could have ended very badly, lucky you weren't impailed on any part of the frame.
hope you manage to sort everything else out with it.
if you do get a new frame would you rebuild it or have you lost confidence in it??2011 KHS Full Susser Carbon 29er Race BuildClank wrote:M'eh, I might just go back to zapping it with frikken lay-zur beeeems. And sharks.0 -
