Hi all
I rode the Fred Whitton sunday just gone & am riding the Evans Ride It! King Of The Downs next sunday. The Evans ride is 113 miles & quite a bit of climbing, although nothing compared to The Fred. I am also due to ride the rescheduled Wiggle Ups & Downs ride this Sunday. I have a choice of 60 or 100 miles. In normal circumstances i would always do the 100 but as it will be sandwiched by 2 longer, harder rides i wondered what distance i am better off doing? I will be doing a training ride today & tomorrow (30 - 40 miles) each. I want to be able to ride the Evans ride well & not be burnt out, will riding a ton this sunday be too much? I guess you could argue that getting the high mileage in the legs will help with endurance & power, but i'm no expert!!
Any advice or opinions much appreciated. I'm probably just worrying about nothing!!
Cheers, Ali

I cant understand why you're doing a "training ride" of 30 - 40 miles today and tomorrow. What exactly is this likely to help you achieve.
I'd probably not bother riding today or tomorrow (or just go for a light spin if you want to get out) and just do the 100 miler this Sunday. And then the 113miler next Sunday. A week is easily enough time to recover (as long as you're not fucking about doing "training rides" in between)0 -
Yeah fair point, i will just go for a nice easy spin today, just to get the muscles working & the legs moving but nothing too arduous. Thanks.0

Yep a light spin of say 25-30 miles keeping a steady and low HR will do you best. And I did the KOD last year and its bloody hard!0
