Who do you support?
Man Utd.

I'm surrounded by them down here in pasty land. I like to go for a bit of culinary diversity when at the Boleyn."There's a shortage of perfect breasts in this world, t'would be a pity to damage yours."0 -

Fair enough. Does the Bovril come in a flask? I've just got an image stuck in my head of Duane Dibbley sitting in the stands. :?0 -
I liked him - a better player than he got credit for - good goals per game record in the top division and international football.
Kinkladze on the other hand had a lot of talent but certainly at Derby I think he was a bit of a luxury player - I'm probably being too hard on him as I don't think we played a system that he really fitted in to.

Man United threw the title away over a month ago it was'nt about today - If you cant score against a Pis* poor wigan team. lose 4 goals at home v Everton and let city score with their only chance (lets face they are not any better with ALL their millions) you dont deserve to win any league.0

I'm sorry to see Bolton go. As a Newcastle Fan, relegation was the best thing to happen to us, ever. I thought Bolton were unlucky yesterday, both Stoke goals shouldn't have counted. Foul on the keeper, then a dodgy pen. But at the end of 38 games, Bolton deserved to go down, just not good enough, the table never lies, you cant blame one day, one decision - although I tried when Newcastle went down - we needed a draw last game away to Villa, and blew it.Cycling prints

IMHO, the Crouch penalty was a case of I've seen them given and I've seen them waved away. However, the first Stoke goal was a clear foul on the 'keeper and belonged in the Nat Lofthouse era.
Thing is, a team doesn't get relegated soley because they were hard done to in the final game of the season but because they've consistently failed over the previous 37 games.Tail end Charlie

I agree with you Frank that Bolton haven't been good enough this season, but I just don't like to see that thing in football. The first goal I'm not so bothered about - it was a terrible, terrible decision, but the player was just challenging for a ball that he thought he could win.
It's watching Crouch leave his foot trailing and then going down like a sack of spuds which annoys me.0 -

...and yet when Owen did the same and Beckham went and scored against the Argies we all cheered. It's football. There are a few constants and one is that the majority of players cheat and the majority of fans don't mind when it suits them.0 -
Bobbinogs - I didn't cheer when Owen did that against Argentina. As far as I'm concerned, if you don't like the rules of one sport then go and play another.
I would also say that the majority of players aren't cheats (or aren't habitual cheats) - there are a couple on most teams, but I don't believe that most players do dive and feign injury.0 -
johnfinch wrote:^^^^Yeah, but we should have had 3 points today. It's also been a very, very difficult season. For a club of our size to lose Holden and Lee the whole season to injury and then have Muamba's heart attack is a massive blow.
As a Spurs fan I was hoping you'd stay up and that shite from West London would go down. The only problem was it meant Man City winning the title. Still, no CL for them in 2014 if the financial fair play rules are applied and god help them when the shiek gets bored with his plaything.I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. will miss Bolton, or at least I'll miss the 6 easy points

Relegated by a pair of iffy decisions. It was the foul on Bogdan that got me more, Crouch mugged the officials but it was a tad more subtle. trouble with the too poor over 38 games & 1 game not making a difference is when there are 2 bad decisions that do take the 2 points you need to stay up, that 1 game does make a significant difference as QPR would have been worse over all 38 games.
Shame for Wanderers, playing catch up from day 1, losing a lot of their strikeforce pre season just after having offloaded 25 goals worth of strikers, but they've lucked out in recent years that there have been significantly poorer teams than in this years prem to mask their ageing squad, poor acquisitions (Ngog!!!!) and slide from mid table battlers to sweating it out to stay up the last few seasons.
A couple of my BWFC pals are rather skeptical about Coyle, they are fed up that he has no plan B when things aren't working and yesterday was case in point, each substitution was like for like, no trying to mix it up or go for a death or glory last 10 minutes.0 -

So the club is followed by people who only support the club and spend money because BWFC is in the Premiership? Are BWFC really not going to have as many fans next season? What does that tell you about the club?0 -

It tells me that it's in a small, fairly poor town which has been badly hit by the recession and fewer people will be willing to pay to watch Bolton once all the best players have been sold off.
The main problem, though, is that the club is going to lose revenue and, with a massive debt to pay off, it is almost certainly going to cut back commercial operations in all areas. My cousin, as a relative newcomer in the workplace, is likely to be amongst the first to be shown the door.0
