nobody is going to worry too much about those four, so perhaps they may sneak away and stay away, a bit like yesterday. wouldnt that screw up everybody's predictions and fantasy teams?

    80k down now

It's the 2nd Saturday in the Giro, a finish climb that's about 4%.

No one is really going to do much I would say. Today is about wearing people down.

    Very sedate pace, today.
Looks as if the Sky/Rabo/Phinney bus is already thinking about forming up.

86 km to go and an 8 minute lead ! hmm at what point does the 1 minute per 10km rule apply? the peloton looked pretty sedate through the feed station

Wouldn't apply for this stage anyway with a 19km climb even one at just a few percent.

Does anyone really care enough to chase though?

what a gem moment to see Cavendish doing a domestique job - how good is that for team spirit!

Cav's on duty as Water Monitor today, going back to the team car to fetch bottles.
Comments from Kelly & Harmon that you wouldn't have seen Cippo doing that!

Love going on a long ride before watching a hard race. Goes to show what incredible and unparalleled athletes these guys are.

Massive respect for the win yesterday. Big sack of courage that little Colombian has.

Lampre doing some work today - maybe they feel they can have a man in pink at the days close?

20 bonus secs for first is pretty decent.

Stages 14, 15, 17, 19 and 20 are the only stages where there are no bonuses on offer at the finish

Av speed for first 100km was only 32km/h

(all this info from cnews ticker which is pretty good)

    Cunego @ 1'25"
    Scarponi @ 1'26"

Can't see it being that selective. Wouldn't be surprised to see a group of 10-20 riders at the finish.

They need to pick it up to scoop those seconds. Although time will come down faster on the climb.

Or Malori perhaps, the current leader? Aren't they just doing their job?

I know the leader's jersey gives you a bit extra... but not that much. Garmin riding now for Hesjedal.

The next rest day is the following Monday due to having to have one for this stupid Denmark jaunt. That certainly impacts the racing.
