well, ok but I ve never heard of Men's Journal or Velonation before then, that gives them friday....

    You'd never seen Velonation? Wow.

Mens Journal seems to have circulation of around 800K, so it's not an insignificant publication

True, but not in the UK...

I get more than enough opinion from here to read more websites! (INRG excepted I suppose...)

    That picture, WTF

Also, I presume "the golden age of gear" story is a US Postal retrospective?

Closure??? For whom? I say take a poll and see if anyone out there is still in such bad shape that they still need closure with "the LA problem".

For someone with testosterone oozing from every pore, that cover is very homoerotic.

In any of LA's legal battles, did he ever swear under oath that he had never doped? Things might get interesting if that is the case.
but I think LA would only go under oath if he appealed against USADA at an arbitration hearing whereas if he accepts a USADA sanction he doesn't go under oath.

I meant in his previous legal battles.

No, probably not the right term of phrase but I was trying to highlight the contrast between Armstrong the alpha male and Armstrong the camp pin up.

With Cycling being on such a high right now, especially in this country, what do we think the fall out would be if this all finally comes out?

Considerably less than it would have been 5 years ago.

    I think.

I think it would be bigger in America than here in the UK (or Holland for me I suppose), but would it really be that big a deal? Personally I would nt stop riding my bike because Larry Doped, or give up fighting Cancer either...

A few people are going to loose some serious cash over it mind...Imagine if (and I'm not sure this is possible) Simeoni, Bassons, Landis, Hamilton all got litigious - Armstrong could hardly claim he did nt do exactly done the same! I don't think Livestrong would emerge from the damage unscathed either, although a lot of innocent people would be affected by that.

It is hard to have any sympathy for amoral, corporate whores like Liggett and Sherwin, who have done all in their power to obscure the truth and uphold the omerta whilst placidly sucking on the teat of American capitalism.

Sounds like you still need "closure" on the "LA problem".

Um... closure for everyone in the "sport of professional cycling", and anyone who follows it to talk openly and honestly about what goes on in the grim shadows. Even to put it in the past and allow the ridiculous omerta to be broken once and for all. Still might take another generation (or two) but, like it or not, Armstrong would still represent a significant watershed.

For me personally, I cut my teeth watching cycling in the Armstrong years. Happy to accept that everyone was doping and it didn't really affect my enjoyment, I'd just like to know for sure.

I also came into cycling during not-so-mellow johnnys heyday. I actually thought he was a nice guy, you know, until I actually read things.

I thought he was cool. Then I saw a video of him during one of the TdF stages where he had a go at one of the other riders for something and I thought 'Wow! You are an arse!'. There's loads of similar videos on YT, where he gives interviews etc. He's just so abrasive.

I don't follow him on Twitter now either, I used to check in from time to time to see what he had to say, but I really CBA with him any more.

There are abrasive people all over the world. We work with them. Some of them are our friends. SOME of them are family. LA is who he is. I don't see why people feel he has to be some ideal person, perfect in every way to everyone. Sure some of us don't like abrasive people but they exist and aren't going to or can't change for your's and my sake. I'm not sure how exciting it would be if all riders and teams were all peace and love and happiness.
