Lovely bike such a shame you have got it rolling on those nasty wheels.

deep section tubs are the only thing to ride on a bike that nice. I prescribe some Enve smart 6.7s

incidentally when I saw IP and new bike I was thinking what could be an upgrade from a Pinarello Prince... Look 695, Storck Fascenerio, C59 or RXRS. Mildly disappointed to see you 'only' got a Dogma

So another commuter you can leave locked to a lampost outside the Morpeth then?

I didn't realise that Campag had brought out a \n electronic shift system.... I'm so behind the times. Not sure about that big black (battery?) box though... Bit damn ugly. Other than that very swish... How much do you earn again? Or did you take out a 2nd mortgage to pay for all the fancy bike kit you've got?!

Dunno why people hate on Pinarello so much. Ridden my Prince since 2008 and it's been brilliant. First impressions of the Dogma2 are that it's even better. Already broke my PB around RP on it as well. I'm unashamedly a Pina fan boy and couldn't really see past that. Geometry is the same as the Prince as well so why not go with what you know works.

Considered a Wilier 07 or a Bianchi Oltre, both have EPS specific frames.

Lot of hate for those wheels for some reason, I'm not sure 'nasty is a fair description; they have DT Swiss 190 ceramic hubs and have served me well. That said I will be popping either Firecrest 404's or Enve 6.7's on it at some point - although in clincher form not tub. I regularly ride between 60/100 miles and no way I'm doing that on tubs, far too much hassle. Leaning towards the Firecrest atm as they seem to stand up to long periods of braking better, and this bike will be taken to the mountains at least once a year!

    Ha, you're worse than CJCP!

Suffice to say this will never be commuted on!

I don't mind the battery tbh. However it didn't take long for the likes of Calfee to come up with a seat post battery for Di2, so when alternatives pop up I'll look at them.

As for earnings, I don't use PT very often, don't run a car and have been paying into a new bike fund since I bought the last bike... always gotta plan ahead. :D

I'd probably forget to charge it up. Get ready to ride it one Sunday, then 'Doh!', followed by *facepalm*.

Looking forward to seeing this in the flesh.

    What's the stem height like?

Well said. Some might whinge that it's not a 'proper' Italian bike because the frame's made in the far east. Which is bunk. Yes, I have an (actually) made in Italy bike, but it's neither here nor there as far as performance, build quality, or pretty much every attribute. I'm a Viner fan boy for sure, but I'm also a Trek fan boy (mine was made in Wisconsin but most models now far east), Dahon fan boy (Taiwan and China for the most part), and Condor fan boy (Italy again). All great bikes. I'd certainly not turn up my nose at a Dogma 2 (though I'd prefer a K, purely for the extra comfort. The only things that matter are (i) Is it built properly (i.e. safely and durably)? (ii) Do you like the looks, ride characteristics, and so on?(iii) Do you think it's worth the money and can you afford it. All three boxes ticked, job done...

Late joiner to the new bike admiration club...Holy Cow! Is that your commuter?
That is one nice bike, but where do you put the rack, mudguards, dyno-hub? Confused now.
Seriously, I like it a lot. Now showing to the missus as this is the only way to travel to work.

Heh. Suffice to say this will never be used for the commute! Pulled the trigger on Zipp 404 Firecrest clinchers now as well, just couldn't contain myself...

Nice. Lot of good carbon clinchers around by what I've read recently, but those are certainly one of the best sets around. Not the lightest for sure, deeper section rims never are, but a strong all-rounder.

Same weight as a pair of Kysrium Elites, pretty light for what they are. Far lighter than carbones for example, though I don't think they are proper deep section rims, just body kitted up shallow ones ;)

Friend of a friend just trashed his brand-new Firecrest 404s on the first time he raced them. Some idiot went down in the bunch whilst attempting a sprint-finish for 26th place. I have no idea how bad that must feel.

Zipps won out on braking. Read a lot of reviews/forums etc and consensus seems to be that they edge the ENVES in that respect. I guess other than that there's little to choose from. May get them rebuilt with other Hubs next year, but people seem very happy with Zipp hubs these days. I don't think that's always been the case.

Are you using extenders then as I couldn't find any latex tubes with 80mm valves to fit my 404's...? Be interested to hear what you have done as I know nothing about extenders and how they work.

50mm Bontrager latex tubes from Sigma Sport with Tufo valve extenders from Wiggle. The bontragers have removable cores, so take out the core, screw on the Tufo's then screw the core into the Tufo's and you're done. I'll carry standard conti butyl 80mm tubes in case of punctures though.

Error - should have gone for marathon plus.

He's already ballsed up by going for Campag instead of Shimano, so another schoolboy error doesn't surprise me. :-)

Note to all: we just need to persuade him to go for carbon bars and stem.

Have to say it looks much much nicer than that cervelo (c5?) that was posted a few weeks ago... Shame it's not really a bike for 18stone people or I might be tempted to get one. Still need to work out what I'm buying as a best bike once the bus company pay out, Volagi is out, Burls Titanium looking good, as is a Ti Equalibrium if they get round to releasing it.

    How's the Record EPS btw?

    Did you consider these?

63 grams lighter than the 404's apparently, all of which will be at the rim since hubs are identical...

Yep, but I wanted a deeper wheel. These bad boys just turned up at the office!

They feel far lighter than I expected!

Edit - Should I remove the decals? They're just stuck on so I guess it would be easy to do...
