I know its not nice, but the angle is pretty cool.
It looks like their breaks are not as good as the pros...

It's got nothing to do with brakes - looks like he (they?) hugely overcooked the corner.0
-
I like that everyone was more concerned with putting the barriers back than trying to help the cyclists!0
-
Ouch, that is going to have hurt0

Maybe at first but most of them were just re-arranging the metalwork.0 -
Ouch, that first guy went in pretty hard.... Bet he had a nasty bruise...0

Well, left like they were they would do a good job of impaling the next rider to crash into them. It's a crit race so what's left of the pack would be back there in a few minutes.0 -
As said before, nothing to do with the breaks or brakes.......just massively over confident going into the corner. In my limited experience of crit racing, brakes are pretty redundant0

what i liked about this one was this guys backs off before the corner and drops a few lengths, scoots round the inside of the accident then puts the hammer down to catch the guy in front, nice move.0 -
Not sure what country.Contador is the Greatest0 -

I dont think anyone has crossed the line?.. If I was the guy in red I would get up and run across!0 -
It's in France, the finish line of the Grand Prix de l'Avenir at Saint Quentin-la-Poterie, run by the AVCN club from Nîmes.
It was the "cadets" race, 16-17 years old.
Typical French road sign, AVCN is painted on the road, the banner on the right is for local "Quick" fast food places who are a sponsor of AVCN, here's a finish line photo from 2009, and here's a report of the crash in French0 -
Good work Tim. I was thinking France because of the road sign and the look of the people : )
Are you from that region? Nimes is one of my favourite places in France.Contador is the Greatest0 -
I'm down near Montpellier. Quiet roads, great trails, excellent climbing and good wine.0

No photos but I did a race once where a guy absolutely tremmelled it out of the last corner into the finishing straight, realised 100m from the line he had nothing left and then not only sat up, not only veered right, but pulled his brakes hard.
That was a beauty from about 20 wheels back."In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"
