Congratulations to Mad_Malx, winner of the Giro PTP by a fairly comfortable 12 point margin. Led the stage-standings for most of the race, plus a solid 65 points for the Giro runner-up.

Shoulda kept faith with J Rod for stage 19 and 20 - could have closed the gap a bit. Was sure Phinney would have picked up points in the final TT. 2nd's not bad for PTP grand tour debut though...
Thanks again AFX for running this.“New York has the haircuts, London has the trousers, but Belfast has the reason!0 -
drat - i feel like the ptp equivalent of rujano - hehe
cheers again afx for adding to cycling fun - now go and have a well earned pimms on the patio. The dissenter is every human being at those moments of his life when he resigns
momentarily from the herd and thinks for himself.0 -
Didn't get to see anything today until the last 5 minutes - just in time to see J Rod hold second, against all predictions.
I'm astounded to win this, my debut season too. I'd like to thank my team, my family....., and of course AFX for sterling work.
I wonder if Tailwind and I both picked J Rod because we didn't know any better - I wasn't aware of his TT history until about half way though this tour so then assumed I was going to be out of it, and I didn't realise no-one else had picked Hesjedal for GC until Thursday. I very much doubt I will be troubling the leaderboard again this season, but will keep the pink jersey for the time being.
Tried to explain to 13-year old daughter what I was doing a few days back and said I wasn't going to win and she said 'sad' - that's nice I thought, until she explained she meant me, not the prospect of me not winning.
When's the next race?0
