PTP - Giro d'Italia
Ooh, a grand tour without a clear favourite. How exciting.
Giro d'Italia, 21 stages, 3 weeks, begins on Saturday... in Denmark. A flat opening few days, gradually getting hillier as the weeks progress, until the usual May madness in week three.
Here's the official race website: http://www.gazzetta.it/Speciali/Giroditalia/2012/it/
Or if you prefer, a concise race guide with all the stage profiles on one page: http://inrng.com/giro/
Startlist: http://www.cyclingfever.com/editie.html ... d=MjI5MTI=
Recent winners:
2011 CONTADOR VELASCO Alberto*
2010 BASSO Ivan
2009 MENCHOV Denis
2008 CONTADOR VELASCO Alberto
2007 DI LUCA Danilo
2006 BASSO Ivan
2005 SAVOLDELLI Paolo
2004 CUNEGO Damiano
2003 SIMONI Gilberto
2002 SAVOLDELLI Paolo
*Or Scarponi, whatever.
Race begins on Saturday with a time trial. That's stage 1. No prologue.
Note there are more PTP points available for grand tours as opposed to shorter stage-races. See the sticky thread for a breakdown (top 20 on GC, top 8 riders each day score points).
Finally, stage 1 begins at 15.40 CET on Saturday afternoon. GC selections after that point will not be accepted.

What an uninspiring selection of riders to pick from for GC. Due to my irrational hatred of the looking over their shoulders brothers I cannot pick FS so....
