    Actually - strictly speaking: no. There's a climb and the roads are always going to be quicker, but we did it because it was daft

    With the right tyres you should be fine on that terrain. I've got a set of 32s that would work on that track - though that did look REALLY muddy. Get the hang of it and it and then enter this next year.

    So yesterdays trip round the New Forest - unfortunately the video died along with the GPS. It was completely mad really - I nearly didn't go when the road through Savernake was blocked by a falling tree. I was supposed to do the 100k but loss of GPS meant I cut it short - nice route though. Fords were impassible so it meant crossing on footbridges and in a couple of places the water on the road came up to the axles - lost the GPS when an idiot in a taxi passed me on a flooded section of road - idiot. Finished the day soaking wet (even my so called waterproof gloves) with a huge stupid grin on my face. Support crew came up with hot soup and coffee at the finish - excellent
