were did you get the carbon from dodge to protect the chainstay and frame...? i would'nt mind purchasing some for the butcher...
Ta pal, I know, just need to fit the rear mech cable then get gf to get the babba pushed out then she's gona get dirty
I got it from a place in Stoke, just round the corner from my house as it turned out. If you tell me how much you want, I may have enough left (some's already gone to another project..) if not its these guys http://www.carbonmods.co.uk/
Talking of mech cables... Have you got any good outer cutters?? Got some jagwire sheathing I need to cut..0 -
Hmm, seems the dropouts and brake caliper mounts are different then. Mine have bolts on the outside and the caliper mounts inside the frame, whereas yours bolt from the inside and caliper is outside.http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7231/6933696372_603c9ce220_b.jpg

Apparently there are different dropouts as options, one of them being the differing caliper position. Must of been luck of the draw which we got.0

Looking really nice Dodget, whats the weight? (I know you have already weighed it)0
-
So, got the cables cut and gears set-up. Fitted the last bits, carbon cycles flat pedals, similar(same as) to Nano's
This is her finished 8)
For the weight weenies out there, not the lightest build, but considering the (hopefully) toughish build, a quite respectable weight
Nearly 7lb lighter than my enduro, can't wait to see how she rides0 -

Nice- very stealth. Any ideas what chain guide your going to go for?0
-
That looks really, really good. I quite fancy trying to build my own based on a 456 at some point.0

Ta. Well, after reading some more threads on the issue, seems a may have had a blonde moment and have been trying to fit the current one with the adaptor plate the wrong way round... Will check tonight.mcnultycop wrote:That looks really, really good. I quite fancy trying to build my own based on a 456 at some point.
It's nice as well to stand back and think "i've built that!" Also saves you blaming anyone else when something falls off for some unknown reasondelcol wrote:foooooooook too late but yeah got some park cutters in the park tool kit.. sorry for the late reply through the week i have to look after the little un while yvonne goes to work (she works eves) we dont have tinternet at hers...

Had a spin round the garden on it, thats all so far....0 -
So, in myquest to get a full chain device fitted, no amount of fettling would get it to work
the combined width of the palte and bb adaptor is just too much, the cranks foul it
So, got my friendly toolman to machine me up a BB mount backplate
time to see if it fits :?:0 -
How did you get on??0
-
Fits great.
Can't get my pics to go into photobucket for some reason, try sort it later.
There's very little gap between crank and plate, prob about 3mm, so don't think any device which needs an adaptor will work. You'll see better when I can get the pics up...0 -
Photobucket working again now....
Chain device fitted now
I ended up using the top guide from the superstar guide I bought, so its a proper frankensteins monster, but works a treat and looks the business 8)
Looks much more purposeful now
As I was trying to explain before about only a dedicated BB mount device fitting, you can see why, there's not much room..
Took her out for her first proper ride tonight up rivvy, did all the good stuff, belmont descent, broken road, steps from the pike etc. Have to say, it goes and handles really well. Bring on some more rides0 -
looking and sounding good! looks like you could make some money out of them backplates!!!0
-
The exotic pedals look great, is the exotic writing in silver or gold? thinking of getting there mag-ti versions. Cracking bike btw, looks superb and good work with the guide!0

Cheers
The writing is silver. Great pedal for the money, they are exactly as per SS nano's, I have them on the enduro.
Really put the bike and the guide through it's paces last night and never lost the chain once. Including the pike tower steps

dodge much more fun pinning it down the hill to the left (as you look at that photo) of the steps arse over the back wheel and stay off those brakes.. you get so much speed down that steep grassy hill....www.bearbackbiking.com

Just spotted your build thread and your bike looks amazing with that finish , it's just a pity that fitting the chain guide was such hassle but glad to see you got it sorted and i hope you have lots of trouble free riding .You must treat others with respect in order to be respected ..

Cheers, it looks even better in the flesh, even if I do say so myself
Had a few good outings on it now, really put it through its paces on drops n rocky stuff and it is brilliant, only issue i've had is a loose seat. Oh, and I really miss a dropper post, so one is going to have to be bought
The guide would have been really easy if i'd of bothered throwing around 120 notes on a new guide, but seeing as I had the stuff to make it work, I was determined to do it.
Col, we shall have to have a ride up rivvy soon.0 -
I can imagine it looks a lot better in the flesh but i must admit that i've never seen that type of finish on a frame before and it's good to hear you've been out on a few rides since you've built it but did the saddle come loose due to a bad fitting ? , i take it you could pick up a decent second hand dropper post up off eBay to save on buying new .
Those guides aren't cheap for what they are and the one you got made up at work looked top notch 8) .You must treat others with respect in order to be respected ..

I remembered afterwards that I had just 'nipped the saddle bolts until I'd sat on it to get it in the right position/angle. Then must of forgot to fully tighten I gave it all a once over after each of the first two rides and all is spot on.
Not quite decided on whether to go reverb, or a KS i900 as had one before and it was problem free. Which ever I can get at the best price will be the winner I think.
You'll have to come for a blast up Lee quarry or Gisburn then you can see it in the flesh0 -

Oop's , i must admit to forgetting to doing the saddle up properly in the past my self  but were only human and the eagerness to get out and ride always seems to take over and i must admit the Reverb as 1mancity2 has said seems to be the favoured choice on the forum and i will meet up with you at gisburn some time but the lack of money is holding me back from getting a bike sorted at the moment but as soon as i'm sorted i'll let you know .You must treat others with respect in order to be respected ..

Cheers fella. Little one is here now, so we'll have to get a cut gate ride sorted and toast kaiser at the top !!
Damn straight, bud! Lets keep an eye on weather. A few dry weeks and we could be good to roll.
Sweet job on the chain device!
Congrats on the other new addition, too. 8)How would I write my own epitaph? With a crayon - I'm not allowed anything I can sharpen to a sustainable point.
