I half agree. OP could absolutely get some cheap carbon that would race well but since he's a Cat 4 on a budget he doesn't need carbon wheels and a really good wheelset that he can put on for the whole of the summer is probably his best option.
Depends if he's really looking for race only wheels or a race worthy set that will last.0 -

Ah OK, then lightweight... the aero advantage of a 30 mm alloy rim is quite pathetic... better to stick with something that accelerates quicker to save energy and have the edge in a sprint, races are iratic, TTs are about constant speed. A set built on those Velocity A23 is probably the better option... people say they are great at cornering, which in a crit race is everything.left the forum March 20230
