Is this good training?

So after I've finished my dissertation and got uni out of the way, I plan on having a week like this:

Now at the moment I just do training where I can, so I might do 30 miles tempo, or I might go on the computrainer, but on the way home I do about 8 miles, through palletine Rd and Oxford Rd in Manchester, and on the way there I do it too, I take it easy, then for 30 second to 1 minute stretches between traffic lights, I just put as much effort in as I feel I can so that by the traffic light I am gasping for oxygen and it takes me about 30 seconds to recover.

Is that what is called going anaerobic and then it's taking me 30 seconds to recovery due to oxygen debt? And trying to raise that threshold bar a bit, the effort sometimes feels at it's hardest about 2 seconds after I've stopped, basically when the bike is at a stand still. I get home and I feel sick.

50 miles at tempo the day after racing sounds hard.

What could I put there instead?

Some races may only be 10 miles, some may be 25 miles, but sometimes i may have to ride out so that's 70 miles.

it depends how fatigued you are I guess. After a 25 or a road race I personally would have a day off or a very easy ride, and prefer to do back to back days in the week. After a 10 might not be so bad.

It looks like you could do more in the week if your Tuesday and Thursday rides are only 10 or 12 miles.

Don't know the exact process, but if you're doing maximal sprint stuff, the feeling of sickness is caused by the intra-cellular lactate entering the blood stream.

In that case Will shouldn't need the rest day afterwards, just an easier day of training.
