Quite excited as this arrived yesterday, it's my first road bike. Upgraded wheels and jockey wheels so far.
I haven't weighed it yet, but I think it'll be about 7KG.

Lovely , Lovely bike. What does the Ultegra Di2 ride like in the real world? These Foils are fast becoming my lust after frame.
First road bike , whatever happened to a rite of Passage? why havent you had to suffer old Raleigh Carltons and Arenas with 5 speed simplex like the rest of us?
Seriously though really do like that, Enjoy.0 -
I think before you upgraded the jockey wheels and wheels you should have upgraded from the lack of pedals.0
-
Very nice, I have a Foil 20 myself.
What do the wheels ride like? I'm after some as my training/winter wheels.Orbea Orca OMX DI2 MyO

I don't know how the bike rides as I haven't ridden it yet. These pictures were taken yesterday straight after unpacking hence no pedals. The wheels are very expensive for a training\winter set. For training I bought a pair of fulcrum 7's0

You've jumped straight into the deep end then!
looks incredible though -> wish my 1st road bike was that nice!0 -
Very nice mate. I have the 20 and wanted to put Di2 on it but it was too much hassle and there isn't sufficient internal cabling for the battery0

I think the whole bike is a bit too good and expensive to use as a winter/training bike.0

Very nice. Is that an automated gear shifter?0

Looks superb! I do like the look of Scotts. Been very impressed with DI2 on the bikes I've tested with it too. Enjoy!FCN 3 / 40

Had my first ride out today, 65 miles starting at Fettercairn and going over the Cairn O'Mount (North East Scotland). I enjoyed every minute of it and I'm looking forward to the Rutland CiCLE Sportive next Saturday.
The bike was great to ride and I was surprised how comfortable it was considering I'm a mountain biker. The gears are great and I love the sound they make, are they worth the money - not sure. I bought the bike with the Di2's because I've found doing 24hrs events on a mountain bike fatigue sets in the fingers and no matter how easy a gear change is to start with it's very difficult after 20hrs. This bike will be used to do a non-stop LeJoG on so I need easy to change gears.0 -
If you want to swap it for my 2007 Via Nirone I think you'd find that more suitable for a non-stop LeJoG.0

great!!! like this do not exist in my place0 -
Had the bike for 3 weeks now and covered 170 miles on it. 100 of those were the Rutland CiCLE sportive which I completed in 6hrs 35 minutes. Yesterday was the first day using the bike for work, unfortunately I only managed to get amile from home and came off. The bike was badly damaged and is now with my local bike shop being assessed for the insurence company.
My main concern is, as the rear hanger is so badly bent what impact has that had on the carbon frame?0 -
How did it happen? I hope you're okay!0
-
it felt like the bike slip from under me going around a corner, my local bike shop think the wind may have blown it from under me. As it all happened so quickly I would like to say. I have a graze on my arm and leg but the bit that really hurts is my left shoulder which I semi-dislocated in December. I appear to have aggravated the old wound.0

Hope you're ok mate !
And the bike too !0 -
Thanks. I'll find out about the bike on Thursday.0

Blown out from under you? Must have been a road-side bomb.
It hurts to see a Foil in that sorry state.
Good luck with the shoulder. Dislocations can be an ongoing nuisance.====================

Would be interested to know about the type of cover too... Does your insurance company pay out if you crash your bike, just like a car insurance company would pay out and cover you if it was your car you crashed?0 -
I came off my CR1 on black ice last Saturday. The household contents insurance settled the damage claim last Thursday (all risks, new for old, cover away from home). They appointed a cycling specialist to handle the claim, I supplied pics and the default position seemed to be to change the frame plus whatever was damaged. The aim being to reinstate to condition before the getoff.
The frame was untouched bar a slightly twatted driveside dropout. I had it inspected at my LBS who realigned it and declared it to be fine so I declined to claim for it.... The insurer had me sign a disclaimer to cover their liability. I claimed for the cosmetically damaged parts only plus labour to fit and opted for a cash settlement rather than the insurers specialist supplying/fitting, mainly to avoid couriering my bike all over the Country.
The insurer is one of the big name, default bike insurers and have been fantastic.0 -
I can't decide on a CR1 or a Foil, must be Di2..
Also need to get whatever I get insured as well as the rest of my bikes. A few companies want £700 for nearly 8k's worth of cover which sounds crazy high!0 -

I had exactly the same problem, was looking for a separate bike insurance but the best quote I got for 10k cover was £750 a yr.... Ermmm don't think so. My OH contacted our house hold insurance and they have asked for a written valuation from a LBS which is costing me £10. Once I have this they will cover my best bike for an additional fee of £30 which covers me until oct when the policy runs out. Very happy now that we called and asked them, it's covered whilst at home, away from home and also abroad for a max period of 30 days but doesn't include racing. V happy. Give yours a call. It could well be worth it.Look 595 ultra - F+F for sale.....

sorry for the later reply. My bikes are covered by the house insurance - M&S. I have a premium package with them which covers all my bike both at home and away upto the value of £4k.
With regard to the bike itself, it's great. I love the ride and the gears, just waiting to get the firmware updated on the gears so I can change up more then one at a time.0 -
So what happened... new bike?0
