Probably get just a VO2max test done for much cheaper in any University that has a sports medicine department. Sheffield Hallam do - price was £60 + VAT back in 2009 when I enquired about it.
    More problems but still living....

    why the interest ?
short of loosing a few pounds you cannot alter it.
constantly reavalueating the situation and altering the perceived parameters accordingly

Massively disagree - although I know this is a commonly accepted view. Some food for thought, better explained than I would be able to here (scroll down): http://highperformancerowing.net/journal/tag/vo2-max

I am curious about VO2 max testing though - what you going to use the data for? Do you use if for continuous testing - to see how your training is going?

While VO2 max is highly genetically predetermined, it still has a trainable element.

But the main question is why do the test?
  • If you are getting a VO2max test, I'd suggest doing a Lactate Threshold test before hand. It is more beneficial having a LT threshold that is relatively close to your VO2 max (obviously the higher the better) as you are more often than not working at/around your LT. It is also a lot more 'trainable' than your VO2 max.
