Damn. What was the final finish order? I assume the 3 stayed away.

Edit - sorry, missed the previous couple of posts. I've got Sanchez for tomorrow I think - typical!

Sanchez, j-rod, Horner, Mollema, Cunego, Dan martin was the top 6

Tomorrow might bring out some more of the real climbers as it's their last real opportunity of the week. Fingers crossed otherwise my PTP overall of van den broeck will be stuffed

Tony, rather than Dan Martin was in 6th place - the boy must be learning how to climb.

    Shush you!

I have a distinct impression Dan is losing time to fall off the GC and hence be allowed away in a break. Due to a daft selection criterion by Cycling Ireland, Olympic selection will be based on points awarded for one day races or - in stage races - for stage wins / stage places but not for overall GC position. So Martin may taget stages instead.

Don't know why I would jeopardise my vice-like grip on PTP 158th place (or wherever) by giving a heads-up: just checked out last climb in tomorrow's Vasco stage on Google Maps Streetview (ahem...half-hour to spare, Herself is out: what's a boy to do?).

Doesn't look particularly steep at all.

If Panzerwagon climbs like he did today and can stay in contention... the TT course is absolutely made for him (I may have had a cheeky look at that, too...).

I now think he's on for the GC.

5 up the road in the break today. 1 min 17 ahead with 62 km to go. Doomed.

Oh and its pissing down by the looks of it.

Blast - all my live feeds have gone t!ts-up. The Basque broadcaster is giving me a message that
eitb.com te ofrece esta carrera todos los días a partir de las 15:15 horas

I think the "todos los días a partir de las 15:15 horas" bit means something about the "toads of god are partying with the 1,515 whores" (which must be the much more fun than the Koran's 72 virgins)

I think the 6 is now 8 with those two in it. Yes - now two greenedge and a danish nat champ there anyway.

It's 4 now, Albasini, Sorensen and a couple of others (Albasini has a team mate), with not much of a gap and 5km to go.

You've got to think J Rod and Sanchez are going into the Ardenne classics in a couple weeks as a couple of the favourites.

I can't see past J-Rod for Fleche W on that performance. Made it look easy.

    Yup.

He's done it before - show perfect Fleche W form and then bin it on the actual day.

When I mentioned that the climb didn't look particularly steep on Google Maps, I may have over-looked the all-important last 500 metres, which looked bloody awful - doubly so with the iffy web feed.
