  • My friends in Holmfirth can't get into work in Huddersfield as the buses aren't running. Apparently they've had 3" of snow already and its still coming down.

Still snowing in Holmfirth now although it is much finer flakes. I have a few days off so won't be trying the new bike in this stuff. However the wife had to go into work so the first 150 yards off up the drive, up the 1:5 hill and round the 1:3 hairpin at the top were a bit interesting
Fortunately we have a Land Rover so it did make it eventually but strangely not another vehicle has attempted it at all.
Some buses are running but the roads were pretty dire as the snow was very heavy and everywhere is slushy. I might yet dig the mountain bike out just to play on some knobbly tyres later.

Snowing/sleeting on and off in Brum.

Not actually lying, of course, it's effectively just colder than usual rain, however the fact that it is falling at all is all the excuse the drivers need to start behaving very strangely. Some right dodgy manoeuvres on the way in.
