Well, the bike has made the decision for me - on the way to work this morning (riding FG) the freewheel on the "flop" side dismantled itself, spewed its bearings all over the path, and the component parts started rattling around on the end of the axle. So I had to whip the wheel out and take as much of the feckin thing off as I could !

Anyone want to see if we can get a group discount on WI freewheels ?
    Until then, I'm riding fixed...

I was wondering if they do bulk discounts only today, i'm in

  • And I just spotted that they make cassette hubs too, I have a dreadful feeling I may be saving up for some of those... :(

Does anyone make hubs that allow you to use a changeable sprocket like the miche fixed carrier but freewheel?

I bought a cheapo ETC freewheel assuming it would be different to the shimano DX or Dicta, turns up and it's a flipping dicta :x

Worse still i gave it a shake and the bearings bounced around like a babies rattle  - had to squeeze some telfon grease into the tiny gap.

also cleaned my other two DX freewheels and packed them with grease, surely it's not the bearings that have worn out rather just dirt and lack of lubrication?
