Nice, but I really wish they'd called it something else!
Oh, and hate those wheels!0 -

Couldn't agree more. It's not a Zaskar.
No, really GT, it's not!
Really though!
No really!0 -

Also I don't like the pedals either. Still wouldn't complain if someone gave me one though.
Is that the new CB dropper post on it?0 -
Sonic, I would have thought you'd be heading over to GT's headquarters in Cali (?) by now, with a high power sniper rifle and a huge scope, to take out whoever decided that a full suss should be called "Zaskar".
You've let us all down. I'm ashamed of you.0 -
And the guy who named Speshes full susser a stumpy lol.0

+1... Just wrong.... A Zaskar is a hard tail, always has been, always should be.... And those wheels... Na uhh...Ibis Mojo HD 2011 www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtopic.php? ... t=12842777

Looks a little skinny to me, needs to eat more pie!
Zaskar always used to mean a bit of hardcore hard tail to me, looks like a sissy pedally bike now :P0 -
Yup, it's a nice looking bike (something GT have never been able to do with Full-sussers IMO), but if it ain't a hardtail and it ain't got the tripple triangle, it ain't a Zaskar.0

I beg to differ.... My RTS Team was an awesome looking bike.... How can you not like it?

Too... Much... Tubing...
Eyes... So... Sore...
(I do miss the raw frame look though. I always had a soft spot for that.)0 -
I like it Wish they sold the 29er hardtail frames separately too.Weight of the prototype full sus frame is a rumoured 1560g!
So roughly the same as a their hardtail weight. You can't see from there, but I'm pulling my really skeptical face at the screen.
Edit: In other news, sounds like Gee Atherton is beating all his old records on his spangley new GT DH bike. Hope the big drive this year gets them back on track.0 -
The newer zaskars are 1100g (m) - my 2008 Team is 1405g with headset cups in M. The new FOC ultra has knocked quite a bit of weight out of them, but they look a lot more spindly, and I wouldn't like to attempt the stuff on them that I do now!0

I'm sure I could justify that I needed a frame to match my £10 t-shirt.
It's a shame they stopped doing Zaskar frames by themselves. As soon as they really pull out all the stops, they seem to make the bikes harder to buy than ever. Guess it might pick up when more shops start stocking the top end GT bits.0 -
Ha, I have that T shirt!
Seems some 26er models aren't even available now. Don't want them to go the way of the Spesh, need some choice.0 -
Tsk, after years of brands not making big bikes, GT being one of them, I'm loving the huge bike revolution. Much like I had to run long stems, and have a mile of seatpost, smaller riders in 2013 can wear stilts and run zero offset stems!*
*apologies wife who is undoubtedly reading this, it's only fair though
Thought you might have that t-shirt, almost posted it in a while back, before realising your GT-ometer would have detected it 20 internets away!0 -

Whats the difference between this and a Zaskar 100? Is it much lighter? I thought the Z100 was carbon too.... Yours, confused of Crowthorne.
PS - Paint job is much nicer on this one thoughA Flock of Birds
+ some other bikes.0 -

Le Mans might be a good name for a GT.0 -

I think it will be called the Zaskar 100 when released.0 -

Gt make some great looking bikes:
Gorgeous! This new-un is nice to, but the naming is blatantly a marketing ploy.0 -
I do like the look of the old Lobo! And STS:
GT were streets ahead of the rest for sus and frame tech in the 90s. Sure, some failed ;-). But they pushed the boundaries.0
