Turbo trainer - getting started?

Hi all, received a cool Tacx turbo trainer as a b'day present & I'm pretty impressed though at a bit of a loss... Could anyone recommend any training programs / links to getting started that don't involve needing HR monitors or cadence sensors? Recently picked up a Garmin Edge 205 2nd hand and not sure it supports the above... Would like to get some use out of the turbo without throwing more money into the deep dark pit that is cycling.
Or should I just STHU, throw on a pair of headphones and start spinning?
Thanks to all - any help appreciated! 8)

You could just start with some structured intervals:

    eg 15mins warm up

    30mins - 6 reps of 1min max effort, 4 mins recovery

    15mins warm down

and other variations, practice at your hill climbing effort? (with the front wheel elevated to simulate climbing)..

you don't really need all the HR, cadence stuff etc. to get a benefit.. although obviously its easier to target the training with the extra data.
