So forumites, what is the greatest trilogy of all time?

You can pick 1 trilogy, or 3 trilogies (a trilogy of trilogies if you will) as long as they are listed in order.

Heres mine...

1) Back to the Future
2) Jurassic Park (say what?!)
3) Star Wars (4,5,6 - before they where messed with)

So different in looks. Were none the less equally mean."</font id="Times New Roman"></b></font id="size2"></i></center></font id="purple">

    1) LOTR
    2) Original Star Wars
    3) The Matrix (closely beating The Godfather)

If they were finished then Nolan's Batman films would be up there. Can't wait for Dark Knight Rises.

Edit: forgot about Beverly Hills Cop... and Toy Story, that's a trilogy now! So many choices I overlooked.

    1. Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Am I allowed books? It's a trilogy of five, for starters, and we all know more is better...
    2. Back to the Future
    3. The El Mariachi trilogy

  • Toy Story - because all the films are great. Every other trilogy mentioned so far has at least one carp one in it.

Back to the Future - 2
    Godfather - 3
    Aliens - 3
    LOTR - Two Towers
    Star Wars - Return
    Matrix - 2&3
    Beverley Hills Cops - 3
    and so on.

Doh, they made 4 Alien films (not counting those dire 'Alien vs Predator' efforts)

If that's the case, I'll nominate 'The Young Ones' - the only made 2 series, but there's no need to nit pick, eh? :-)

Welcome to the forums. Glad you werent put off by our bad language and general ladishness.

You're wrong though. There were no bad Oceans films.
Nor were there any bad Bourne films, which would have been #4 on my list

When (if) they release Bad Boys 3 that will go near to the top of the list.
When they release MIB III later this year that'll go close to the top of the list too.

What a question to be asked on today of all days.

There can be only one answer.

The hitchhikers guide to the galaxy.

  • You're wrong.

I'm deeply offended because you have a different perspective to me. You are clearly wrong and are also doing a terrible job of removing posts I am offended by but don't report.

As a side question, has the number of posts being reported in CC skyrocketed in the last couple of weeks since certain forum members were encouraged to report posts they object to? Or have said people continued to remain offended enough to want them removed, but not offended enough to ask for their removal through the correct means?
  • I could also do a far superior job of moderating than any of you lot as I am supermoderator on 5,000,000,000 other sites. I just don't want to is all.

No change really. CC nope. CS maybe 1 or 2 more but then they never reported anything anyway they just shouted at people.

  • Suggests to me some people are more interested in attention whoring than they are reporting things they are offended by.

Also, as our trilogies are no longer limited to 3-film series. I'd like to nominate the Die Hard quadriligy. Yipiee-kayaay motherfu*ker!

It upsets me that Die Hard made such a late contribution to this thread, as it has to be one of the manliest quadrilogies ever made!

    Die Hard
    Toy Story
    Back to the Future
    Monty Python

A part of me wants to say the Highlander, but because of how terribly awesome it is, especially the second one

    Mine are in order..

    Bourne Trilogy:

Love or hat Matt Damon those films are freakin' brilliant
    Alien:

Although there are 4 in the 'Alien' series, the first 3, especially the 'special; releases: Alien Director's Cut, Aliens Directors Cut, Alien 3 Assembly Cut

    BTTF:

Yup, Marty McFly and Doc Brown with the DeLorean, just cannot beat it for value entertainment

    Star Wars:

    Original Star Wars 4, 5 & 6.

    Lord of The Rings:

Solely for production value, beautifully made films and very entertaining too

I love Back to the Future. Prefer Anal Adventures, but hey ho.

    Anyway:

    1: Back to the Future
    2: Superman
    3: Indiana Jones

Alien as a duo, amazing. Shot down by the third.

You need to get a copy of "Alien 3 The Assembly Cut" 30 minutes longer with some major differences over the disappointing cinematic release, The Assembly Cut does the trilogy justice

Evil Dead trilogy- 2nd one being the best IMO

Naked Gun trilogy- I admit its been a while since I've watched them though.

Bourne Trilogy- cracking films, only let down by the Audi that would not dent!
