Well after waiting 17 years to beable to buy a Foes frame ive finally ordered one, A white Foes shaver 6" trail bike. But i dont have any pictures of the actual frame as im still waiting for it, but i thought id do a parts list for anybody thats interested.

Forks are DT swiss exm 150 with 15mm bolt through, ive got the 130mm carbon versions on my other bike and they are bloody fantastic.
SAM_0266.jpg

Wheels and tyres, Stans flow rims with hope pro 2 EVO hubs, ive also gone for the stans/hope tubeless kit with Nobbly Nic UST tyres. Ive never tried tubeless before so a bit nervous about it.

Stem and Bars are SUNLINE V1 with Peaty grips

Drivetrain is full XT 2x10 including brakes, but i thought id give some Powercordz gear cables a run for the money and see how they cope with a yorkshire winter.

Seatpost is a Rockshox Reverb 125mm drop and the seat is a selle italia troy lee design.

Schweet, you don't see many Foes frames about! Looking forward to seeing it, the spec looks really good, and I'm also a bit of a Foes fan, but haven't had the chance to own one yet.

If you ride where I ride, you're as over biked as I am :p I feel a complete hypocrite saying i'm a mountain biker from lincolnshire! where do you hail from?
  • Im in Barnsley, South yorkshire. Wharncliffe is my play ground i love it there but i also really like the peak district.

Ah well, you've loads more reason to have a fancy bike than I do. I intend to hit the Peaks more, Doncaster and Style Cop too.

Well the first ride report is..................... Its absolutley amazing. I've just got back from doing one of my favourite rides over cutgate and down to ladybower and the decent back to langsett was out of this world the bike just glides over everything. I was always worried that i wouldnt see where the money went but im so wrong and the reverb seatpost is also great, so all in all im chuffed to bits.

  • That does look properly nice. Apart from the garish saddle and white grips, which should be a criminal offence. But what do I know. It's your bike and if you like them........ :):)

The Grips are in white because when you get stuff for free you dont get much choice
Just weighed the bike this morning just out of sheer curiosity and it comes in at 31 lb. I ve no interest in making it light, i just like my stuff to work with the least amount of up keep.

They seem to be ok, not really tested them properly yet, I got them because they were tubeless and CHEAP :D

  • That looks sweet! I know what you mean with the forks, I have the 130 EXM's and they are amazing!

Where did you get the frame from? 8)
Very funny Scotty, now beam me down my clothes.

I got the frame from Balfa, they are the uk importer for Foes. Since i placed the order for the frame (january) the price has gone up by £200, at the price they are asking now for it i wouldnt have bought it on face value but since riding it, its worth every penny (in my head anyway). I took a huge gamble no test rides, no finished frames in pictures or anything  but all is well :D

Well after alot of miles and various trial centers and bike parks, I can report that the bike is top notch I love it to bits. BUT the tyres are proper crap ! in all conditions and various pressures so im going to swap them for High rollers before i head to the alps in june.
