i know this sounds a bit extreme.. but I think it's due to more principle then anything, and the fact he's in my opinion a complete tw@ who thinks he's untouchable..

Your never gonna get anything back of this guy, your right a complete tw@t, but on a positive note, at least its only £35 could have been a lot more...

If you prove its fake, then you can report him to the police!

  • In the case of selling goods unfit for purpose - as long as you paid by paypal payment rather than gift youre covered.

If you paid by gift, take it to the police and explain thats what he requested of you - you'll get your money back and he'll get a good old slap.

Or this is what happened in my case but mine was more fraudulent

You were bent over, lesson 1a with paypal is NEVER use the gift option unless you know and trust the person your sending the money to.
If someone says to you they only accept payment as a gift, tell them to f-off and find another mug.

Bit (or allot) of araldite and it will be fine.

I wouldn't try fixing it if he's going to claim. If RM pay, it's theirs, if he pays, it's his.

China is rife for fake FSA carbon stuff, could be a fake, could be original, you won't tell from pics, eitgher way the seller is a moral less sh!t.

Get some epoxy, glue it and see what happens, make sure the inside of teh post is clean and has no contaminants, roughen the surface with some glass paper as well to get something for the epoxy to key into.

And don't be stupid and pay via PayPal gift. Pay the extra 3% if people are funny about it. Cheaper in the long run.
To a genuine seller, buyers can just have them turned over by complaining about each purchase, get their money back and run away with the goods and the seller has no leg to stand on, and you wonder why people ask for gift payments. 3%, ka-ching!. Mr unregulated non-bank does what they like and runs off to the bank again laughing.

As much as PayPal "protect" the buyer, I steer clear of them where possible because of their anti-seller tactics. The very reason why I don't sell on ebay any more.

by sticking it together, you have just lost all your rights to a claim.
should have left it till you got an outcome

The only way the OP could progress a claim was via small claims (£30) IF he has the sellers real name and address......I doubt that was going to happen as he doesn't have the details and its a big gamble (double or quits).

Except it looked like the seller was starting to come to the party. Until he reads the rest.

To the comments about paypal gift, another forum I go on (avforums), i've done a lot of trading (hundreds) and everybody always uses paypal gift and very few problems occur. There is a far more formal/obvious feedback rating system on there though which helps.

Have done a bit on here and again not had any probs, but its sometimes on the back of my mind due to lack of ratings.

Back on topic, if you've done a good job of the gluing, you should be fine anyway fingers crossed.

I like buying from the BR forums, but I buy from people with a few hundred comments at least. A regular user of the forum is less likley to rip you off. Everyone else has yet to prove themselves.

yeah, well I sanded all the parts that were going to be glue down to key it, cleaned it with white sprit, let dry and then mixed up a load of epoxy..

put a helping on the clamp and a helping in the tube...

It's been drying now for around 8 hours and it feels pretty damn solid to be honest....
