The old blokes section in this months mbr has a picture of a lad who's been left with scar across his throat, after some French idiot strung a length of electric fence wire between two trees.

If the rope's high enough it can cause decapitation or serious tracheal damage.

Trivia: My dad worked on that design in the REME workshops in Aden in rthe 60's, as the "rebels" used to place snare wires to injure/kill squaddies who often drove with their windscreens in the down position (so they could shoot forward without the windscreen being in the way)
