Heart rate strap

I have a Garmin Edge 305 which I have had for about 3 years but the elastic part of the strap is giving up the ghost.
The actual heart rate part is fine but erratic due to loss of contact with my skin.
Does anyone know where I can get a new strap (elastic) as I really don't want to pay out for the lot?
Or do I have to make a new one myself?
I must admit to being a tiny bit precious about my heart rate as I've had a heart attack in the past!!

Looking on the Madison website they only list the complete strap but Garmins own store has one
