Shallow Grave is still up there, IMHO

    Rec was surprisingly enjoyable.

Let the Right One in. Edit: the original Swedish one, obviously.

    Children of Men.

The last two aren't really horror though.

I can't abide horror movies. I'm such a wuss. I couldn't even watch Doctor Who as a kid.
Even the jokey 'Scary Movie' franchise is too much for me.

Proper scary: Martyrs. French film, so a bit of reading along with watching! It is one of the few movies to have stuck in my mind for years since watching it.

Silly: Tucker and Dale vs Evil. Same sense of humour as Shaun of the Dead, and the best chainsaw/bees scene you'll see.
    Bike/Train commuter: Brompton S2L - "Machete"
12mile each way commuter: '11 Boardman CX with guards and rack
For fun: '11 Wilier La Triestina
SS: '07 Kona Smoke with yellow bits

Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead (in one sitting with plenty of vodka is the traditional way to watch these)

Watched Cronos the other night, which I would recommend.

Let the Right one In (as above) is great

"Ring" (Japanese, although the Hollywood remake isn't too bad, as remakes go).
    "Don't Look Now"
    "Audition"
    "Halloween"
    "The Orphanage" (Spanish)

Only if it's the 1976 original. The 2006 remake is rubbish.

Braindead is an awesome film! I love the quirky way it is shot and the old woman who gets nibbled by the monkey is an 'orrible piece of work. Classic moment when her ear falls into the custard on the dinner table..... Much watch stuff.

Troll Hunter is on my Lovefilm list and I'm really looking forward to it.

Yup. It is an unpleasant film.
  • Drag me to hell is an awesome film - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1127180/
Or if you want a prolonged horror experience check out the TV show American Horror Story.

If simple scares is what you like and your have the patience watch The Shining. Also loads of people slate it but Paranormal Activity is good. Someone mentioned the original version of the ring. Also getting back more into horror check out the French film Switchblade Romance, it rocks.
