Pain...

Good Morning all,
I would like to share with you, probably the only thing that somehow slows me down either physically or mentally, at the moment.
I have pretty bad but not the worst pain in the right knee at the inside of the leg. I don't have and never had such a pain in the left leg however. I have been bike fitted at Hewitt's a while ago and my position seems to be fine and pretty comfy (the discomfort only occurs when I push beyond the body limits).
Although I've been riding bikes for my entire life (I'm only 20 now) I'm novice to road cycling as I only ride seriously since June last year. However, I've put around 7k kms over that time up to now on the road, usually in the Pennine hills, and on the track as well. I understand that the pain could be from overdoing the knee especially when riding hills, but I've significantly slowed down about 2 months ago as I thought that resting would be beneficial in this case and it's also fits my training plan (I try to build the endurance base at the moment). My riding style includes very high rpms (around 120-140, when everyone in the pack is pushing big gears I can still be in the small ring), which I think should be good for solving the pain. And suprisingly I don't feel any pain when I'm riding the bike. It's only when I come off and do different things or in the bed at night too. As soon as I start training again the pain disappears.
It's a strange feeling to me and I'm a bit worried as we will soon approach the racing season and I wanted to acquire significant improvement in the coming year. But if the pain get worse I could be even off the bike for a long time and lose my fitness. I also know that most of the replies would be telling me to see the doctor and yes, I will come and see him but my question is whether you have come across something similar in the past, know what's going on and really every advice related to that matter would be greatly appreciated
Happy New Year to all

Try to see a physiotherapist directly - preferably one who has sports interest. Get a clear diagnosis of what is causing teh pain (which body part is actually hurting), what could be causing it to hurt and what to do to alleviate & avoid further pain.
You might also want to start by talking to the people that did your bike fit - perhaps one of your cleats etc is slightly malplaced.0 -
I wish my cadence was as high. Yep have to agree.. seek professional advice, a good sports physio. Why tidy the house when you can clean your bike?0

Thanks for replies. I found one sports clinic in my area and I will see them soon The pain is not great but I don't want to get it worse, which could happen when I start pushing harder on bigger gears.
Well, my cadence on the road is more on the lower side of the stated figure and depends, but with my current training consisting mostly of riding rollers I don't seem to drop below 130 and on the track it's also above 100 with the 48/15 gearing.0
