Turbo vs Gym bike

Hi everyone,
was just woundering what the diffrences between using a turbo trainer against using a gym bike?
What are the pros and cons of each and which do you prefere/find better? Obviously much rather be out on the bike.

    i find the jim bike works different parts of my leg mussels due to the up rite one fits all size :? i rather use tubro hate air con in jims as well :x

    I'd use a spin bike rather than a gym bike. More adjustment so it's much more like your own bike.

    Same, as above, a spinner over a gym bike.

    Then turbo over a spinner as it IS your own bike.

    same! :) i refuse to go on those gym bike thingies, I don't feel like I'm cycling...or working out.

    Ah, i didnt know there was a diffrence between a spin bike n normal gym bike. Not good.
    I am tempted to invest in a turbo trainer but don't want to buy one and get bored so not use it. Any thoughts?

    See if you can loan one to see if you like it, I have and so far it's not too bad but I don't have a fan so sweating lots.
