Hi all.
Hope you had a good xmas.
I am looking to get a turbo trainer to build up my fitness, I have a Pinnacle Road Bike to a good standard (Cost £1,000). Not sure what specifications you need to know for a Turbo Trainer?
I would really appreciate some help on what Turbo Trainer to get, any reccomendatations, brands, types etc.
My budget is £150.00 for new or second hand.
Thanks again.

Tacx Speedmatic with the 10 resistance levels.

If you have a Decathlon near you, they are doing the Tacx Satori with mat and front wheel support for £129 - which is a bargain, but you can probably do even better if you go second hand and are happy to wait.0

I use a Elite Mag Lite Turbo Trainer... It's entry level but fantastic! I paid about £130 but you can pick them up for £80-100 now... Mine is deadly silent and the resistance works a treat, it does the job and for just general fitness it's perfect. I haven't had to upgrade yet as it's still working well so I see no point in spending unnecessarily.0

the tacx speedmatic as said above is a good option.
this is the cheapest place i can find for it and it comes with a free turbo trainer tyre which normally cost <£20.

Thanks for the reply everyone.
Just a little confused, do I use my gears on my bike, or I take it some come with a shifter of some sort?
Decatlon sounds great!
I can get a Tacx Sirius Soft Gel T1435 for £125? Does that sounds like a good offer?
I have also seen a lot of Cycle Ops, no good?
Also will I need a skewer?
Thanks again.0 -

They've put it up to £169 now but that's still a cracking price.
I sold my Speedmatic for £50 and bought a once-used Satori for £50. The Satori feels way better - the resistance unit feels smoother and the trainer itself seems to flex more, making it a bit less of a rigid ride. Obviously the front wheel holder is better than a Yellow Pages, and it works as a carry handle, which is actually pretty useful. And the floor mat catches sweat, and stops me scraping the floor with my cleats. If you must buy new and are going to get a Tacx trainer I'd definitely recommend paying extra for the Satori.CAPTAIN BUCKFAST'S CYCLING TIPS - GUARANTEED TO WORK! 1 OUT OF 10 RACING CYCLISTS AGREE!0 -
Or, buy my Flow - in the for sale section - and get a trainer that is in a different league for the same price!0
