Sigma Wireless computer (BC1609 STS)

Hi

I got one of these for Christmas but I'm struggling to set it up. Because i'm using with a turbo I've fitted the speed sensor to the seat stay at the back which is approx' 760mm from the unit mounted on the stem.

It seems to start OK - the sensor on the seat stay flashes green twice when i get started but the signal seems to drop out soon after.

The cadence sensor is fitted on the chain stay also 760mm away from the sensor and this works fine.

Very annoying.

Thanks

Put the computer on the top tube instead?

I have a 1609 on my bike and have no issues, but I don't run it as a speed sensor on the turbo

  • brettjmcc is on the right lines. I run one of these on a turbo and found the signal strength is not quite enough when running the sensor on the rear wheel to mount the computer on the stem.

I mounted it on the top tube and after moving it backwards and forwards a bit found that about 6 inches from the stem works fine and is still in a place I find easy to look at.
